Arkin

The next day, everyone was gathered to the the gymnasium for some announcement. They haven't been told what the announcement would be but it seemed like it's a serious matter.

Few moments later, everyone bring their attention to the stage when Mrs. Hemsley made an appearance. Everyone turned quiet as they wait for the announcement.

"It's been almost a month since the death of one of our students. It's been a serious matter that has affected not just his family but also the faculty, and probably some of you who's been a friends with him. And more importantly, it had made us bring or attention to how serious the case had been." Mrs. Hemsley paused to look at the reaction of the students.

"We do not allow violence in this school. We aim to give you the best quality of education that we can. As per our observations and with the help of some of you here to prevent another case of suicidal or any kinds of violence in this school. I've been told that some of you are part of gang, and which is strictly prohibited in this school." The chattering of students began.

"If I hear something about anyone getting involve to a fight or anything, I'd like all of you to know that you're gonna face a terrible consequence."

Suddenly, Arkin felt the nerves climb up his spine as he thinks of what he just heard.

After the announcement, everyone made their way back to their classroom while Arkin decided to go the cafeteria. As he settled on an empty table, he began eating, hoping he'll get rid of the thoughts in his head but that didn't make any difference.

Moment later, he paused when Kevin made an appearance. They exchanged glances for few seconds before Kevin takes a seat infront of him.

"Aren't you scared?" Arkin's brow creased at Kevin's sudden question. "I know you heard about the announcement."

"Why would I be scared?" Kevin stayed silent for a couple of minutes before he sniggered and stood up.

Just when he thought Kevin would left, he placed down a ticket to the upcoming cycle race competition.

"Come if you want." Was the last thing he said before he left.

.

When he got home, he settled with his dad quietly on the dining table as they eat their dinner. Arkin was just trying to keep quiet while he could feel his dad staring at him.

A few minutes later before he could even finish his food, his dad placed down an envelope. Arkin stared at it before bringing his eyes to his dad who was just chewing on his food, waiting for him to open it.

Confused, Arkin open the envelope and pulled out what was inside. Arkin wasn't thinking of what could it be that he went shocked the moment he figured it was a photo. Not just a photo. It was a photo of Zeke, Tim, Gab, and Harry.

Arkin swallowed the lump in his throat as he looked at each of the photos. It seemed like it was taken just recently.

"What is this for?" He asked, keeping his voice and action casually.

"Do I really have to explain it to you, huh?" His father put down the utensils to bring his whole attention to Arkin who keep a serious and confused look on his face.

"I warned you already to keep away from that guy. That Zeke is part of a gang." His father took the photos and pointed out a picture of him hanging out with Tim and the others infront of the bar.

"So you were spying on him?"

"Technically, yes. But let's just say, I'm being curious about that guy and which makes me want to know more about him so you don't have to."
