Life could sometimes be described just like an art. It's supposed to be colorful and mysterious at the same time. But that's not how everyone perceived them. For some, life isn't as colorful as they thought it has to nor was it mysterious. Life is just like an art, but art doesn't always needs to be colorful, it's supposed to be interesting.
Arkin who had been sitting down, painting for almost an hour now was pulled from his thoughts the moment he hears the knocking on the door. He looked over to where he saw his mum came in with a wide smile stretched across its lips.
"I didn't mean to bother you but I'd like to let you know someone wants to see you." Arkin's brow raised as he looked at his mum. He didn't get to ask when he saw someone entered and his eyes widen when he realized who it was.
"Jenny?" Arkin was looking shocked and Jenny just smiled at his way. Arkin immediately went to her and pulled him in a tight hug. "When did you get back? I thought you'll be here next month".
"Well, I just got excited. I mean, I don't want to miss your special day. I know how important that is to you."
"But that would still be next week. Don't you think you're being excited?" He said, making Jenny faced dropped serious this time.
"Why are you sounding like you don't want me around? Can't you just be glad that I'm here?"
"I'm not. I was just shocked. I didn't know you'll come sooner."
"That's because it was a surprise." She said before his eyes landed on the painting Arkin has been working on.
She walked up closer to his painting and Arkin watched as how Jenny studied it like she's an expert.
"Still dark as ever." She spoke which made Arkin chuckled as he came closer to her. "Don't you want to try and explore other colors that exists? There's much more color than black and white, you know?"
"Then I don't think that's still going to be me." He said as he settled on his chair and tried to get back painting while Jenny remain beside him.
"You still haven't changed."
"I'll take that as compliment." He said and Jenny just snigger. "What?" Arkin asked when he noticed her staring at him.
Jenny shake her head. "Nothing. I just missed you." Arkin paused to look at Jenny in the eyes.
They only haven't seen each other for about a month and it just made Arkin smile hearing what Jenny had said.
"You better control yourself now. I don't think it's a good thing cause' you might get stuck with me forever."
"Not an issue to me." She said and they both laugh before Arkin get backs to painting. "By the way, there's something I'd like to tell you."
"About what?" Arkin asked but before Jenny could respond, his phone rings. He pulled it out from his pocket and saw a message from unknown number.
For a moment, Arkin felt memories sink in his head after reading the message. His heart beats faster than it's usual and thought began to crawl up his head.
"Where are you going?" Jenny asked as soon as Arkin stood from his seat.
"I'm just going for a ride."
"Seriously? Right now?" Jenny followed Arkin's fast strides who seemed to be in a hurry.
Before Arkin could hop on his bike, Jenny asked, "I don't know where you're going bit I'd like you to know that your bike looked older than you do. Don't you wanna grab a new one?" Arkin looked down his bike before shaking his head with a smile on his face.
