Zeke

Zeke was a few step away from the house to meet Tim and the others when he notice a guy standing just a few steps away from the house. He thought it was just some random guy but not when he was blocked by him.

"Zeke, right?"

Zeke's eyes narrowed at how casual the guy approached him."Do I know you?"

"No you don't, but I know you would want to." Zeke's face scrunched up, starting to get confused this time. This guy looked like he's in his mid thirty's and which makes Zeke wonder what he needs from him.

"By the way, my name's Jason. Just like you, I'm also part of a gang. I've been hearing a lot about your gang and most specially you. And as far as I know you've done a great job in almost all the jobs you were asked to."

"Just say what exactly you want now."

The guy slid both hands in his pocket as he admire how confident Zeke is just like how he assumed he would be.

"Well, I wanted to offer you to work on somebody."

"Zero's not here yet. Just tell me the details and I'll get back to you once we've come up with plans."

"Actually, this offer is is just for you." The guy quickly added before Zeke could even take a step. And Zeke just can't refrain the confusion this person is giving him. "I don't need your whole gang to work on this. I believe your skill is enough to work on this one person."

Zeke exchange glances with him for a few seconds before saying, "I'm sorry but that's not gonna happen. We work as a team here. So if that's all your concern is about, better find someone who's willing to grab your offer."

Zeke the turn around. But before he could even take a step, the the guy said, "I could pay you double the amount you needed. I heard your mum's in the hospital and you needed money to pay your expenses."

What the guy said made Zeke turn to look at him with his brows furrowed. Jason noticed the confusion painted on Zeke's face which made him chuckle.

"It's not that I meant to stalk on you. I guess  it's better to say, I just have to know the person whom I would want to do the work. It's a great offer, Zeke. And I want you to think about it."

For a moment, Arkin didn't get to respond. Although it might have seemed a great offer, Arkin didn't have to think twice what his answer would be. It's not because he can't do a work alone but because they work as a team.

He then turn to his heel and ignore him as if that guy's  never there.

.

When the next morning comes, Arkin was on his way to his PE class when he saw Zeke sitting on an empty table. He seemed busy whilst reading some books. And he didn't  wonder what is that for.

"What are you doing?" Arkin asked as soon as he reached Zeke who bring his glance up to meet his.

Zeke pick up the books to show him what he's doing. "I guess I'm reviewing."

"Sounds really boring."

Zeke hissed. "I have no choice. The competition is just few days from now."
