23 - So you won't even give us a chance...

I went to class the next day to find Zacky ignoring me. Last time I checked, he gave me flowers and left before I even got the chance to speak to him. How was this any of my fault ? 

I returned home after the longest fucking day. I was not used to being ignored by him, it felt pretty bad to be honest. I went home directly after class and went for a run to clear my head. When I came back, I found Zacky sitting on my stairs. My heart stopped for a second.

"Hey…" I greeted him. 

"Hey , I wanted to talk to you… It's not fair to you that I am ignoring your calls… I wanted to apologize for showing up early yesterday. " Zacky explained. 

"I honestly don't care Z about you showing up late or early. I only wanted to see you. Be with you. He left seconds after you did. Why did you? I asked you to stay " 

He stayed silent. 

"But I can’t help but ask myself why you did show up before he was gone. Don't you trust me?" I asked. 

"I'm sorry… I took the time to reflect before coming here, you did nothing wrong. I did, because I am an insecure ass."   

"I was honest with you from the start. You have nothing to be insecure about with me. " I walked toward him. He stayed where he was.

"I was jealous when I saw you with him. You let him in today and I made things up in my head. I told you my ex cheated on me. I knew for a long time but I broke up with her a month before I met you. So I guess trusting is still hard for me." He sighed. "I like you, but I don't know if I am ready for this..." he said.

"I'm scared too, that someday you will break my heart. It feels like you are doing it right now." 

"I'm sorry Ali, it is better for now that I stay alone… It made me realize how much I am still hurt by her. " 

"Fuck… So you won't even give us a chance?" I asked him. 

Zacky left after apologizing, saying shit that didn't matter anymore like we could still be friends, we could try again in the future. I was too hurt right now to even consider these options.

Two weeks had passed and I was getting tired of crying and making efforts to avoid him. I missed four classes we had together just to make sure I wouldn't see him. I saw him once and it felt like shit, I only wanted to go embrace him. 

 Today, I decided it was time to move on. 

Jess and I both had the day off work and we wanted to do something fun. She suggested we do something with Jimmy, he was always the one to put a smile back on people's faces, so it seemed like a good idea at first. She told me to pack a bag with a swimsuit and sunscreen, so I did. I was in Jess' car and I didn't know where we were meeting him. But then, as Jess told me she planned on visiting Huntington Beach, I wondered if this was a good idea after all. 

"You said an hour ago you were moving on, act like it." Jess challenged me.

"I am moving on, I am still stressed out about seeing him though." I sighed.

I gave Jimmy a call to ask him if he wanted to go to the beach with us. 

"Come pick me up at our house. I'll ask Johnny if he wants to join. " he said.

When Jimmy texted me their address, it suddenly felt wrong. I was going to knock on Zacky's door. 

"Jess, I don't think I can do this." 

"You can, and you will. I won't go back to L.A. until tonight. " 

"Fine. Can you pull over? I'm just gonna walk back home." I laughed. 

"Stop being so dramatic. We are visiting your friend." 

We arrived shortly after and we knocked on the door of this beautiful, huge house. There were four cars outside and a garage. Matt opened the door and greeted us.

"You must be Jimmy's friend. Or Zacky's, I don't know anymore. I'm Matt."

"Hi, I am Alissa, we came to hang out with Jimmy. He asked us to pick him up here." 

"I'm Jess, Ali's friend."

"Yeah, come on in, he's getting ready. Told me to give you a house tour in the meantime" He closed the door behind us. "Welcome to our home." 

A tour of Zacky's house, just what I needed.

"It is huge" Jess was looking around. 

"That's what she said." Synyster Gates arrived. "I'm Syn, or Brian, whatever you wanna use." 

"Hi! I'm Ali. " I greeted him. 

" I'm Jess… So happy to meet you." I looked at her, she was pale and froze there while staring at him. I guess he was her celebrity crush. 

"She's a big fan of yours." I explained. 

"Well, good. What are you up to today girls?" 

"Well, good. What are you up to today girls?" 

"Going to the beach together if you wanna join." Johnny said, arriving where we were. "Hey girls!" 

"I told Zacky I would go somewhere with him. Maybe next time." Syn replied.

"Are you here for dinner? Jim and I planned we were all coming here to hang out with the girls tonight. Val and Matt should be back by then. Matt has planned something for his girl." 

"And I don't want to be late for that. See you later girls." Matt left. "We'll have fun all of us together tonight."

I felt myself going red and I looked at Jess horrified. She whispered to me it was going to be okay… I doubted that. 

"Yes. Guess I'll see you then girls." Brian said. 

"See you later." Jess replied.
