Carla's POV
I was leaning against Derek as we were watching Endgame with Rylee and Charlie were laying on the couch behind us. We had timed out the movie so that Tony would snap at midnight.
Meanwhile, Tyler, Lukas, and Issac got bored and started playing a game of Monopoly and watching the movie at the same time. I rested my head against Derek's shoulder and he leaned his head against my head when we heard the door open. "Hey, Mom," he called, she came into the living room and paused, seeing everyone. It was past eleven and I was kinda surprised she was only just getting home.
Her eyes landed on me and I noticed the annoyance in her eyes, "Hi," Dalilah answered, looking at Derek, I swallowed hard as she left.
I looked at Derek to see him watching where his mother was going, I grabbed his hand and squeezed it, "Charming," I whispered, he looked at me.
"What?"
"Watch the movie," I told him, he rolled his eyes and smiled slightly.
"Alright, alright," he agreed, before we both turned back to the movie.

We had a half an hour before Tony would snap his fingers and Dalilah had come back down to watch the rest of the movie with us. She was randomly making comments towards me and I was doing my best not to respond to them while Derek was about to snap. I pulled one of my knees into my chest as Derek tightened his arm around me and kissed the side of my head, "I'm sorry," he whispered, I shook my head.
I gave him a slight smile, "It's fine, Charmin', I can handle it," I told him, I knew that I could deal with comments, but they were slowly starting to get to me with how they were about Derek and I's relationship.
I felt my phone vibrate and I grabbed it to see a text from Tyler.
Tyler: R u ok?
I glanced back at him and nodded.
Me: Yea, I'm ok.
I let out a breath and rested my head on Derek's shoulder again, turning back to the movie as I heard someone snore. Derek and I glanced back to see that Charlie had fallen asleep while Rylee was slowly starting to doze off on his chest. I snorted as Derek shook his head, smiling, I turned back to the movie.
I relaxed against Derek as Dalilah shook her head, "You know, if she wasn't so needy, maybe I wou-"
"Mom," Derek exclaimed, sitting up and looking at her, I swallowed and moved over, leaving a foot of space between us. I swallowed and crossed my arms with my legs stretched out in front of me, Derek looked at me. "Princess," he asked, I shook my head and grabbed my phone.
I turned my phone's sound on as I got a text from Mom, I swear that I'll never time anything like that ever again.
Mom: How doing?
I let out a breath and glanced at Derek, giving him a small smile, "I've gotta get home, Mom just texted me," I said, he sighed and nodded.
I got up as Tyler looked at me, "She need me home too," he asked, I shook my head.
"No, just me," I said, he nodded as I headed for the front door and heard someone follow me, I knew that it was Charming.
"Princess," he said, softly, I looked at him and shook my head.
"It's fine, Charming," I told him, he shook his head.
"No, it's not," he answered, I shrugged and looked down, he rested his hands on my hips. "I'm sorry, but I'll come over before midnight."
I nodded, "Okay," I answered, he shook his head and gave me a kiss.
"You didn't deserve that," he whispered, resting his forehead against mine, I smiled at him.
"Don't even worry about it," I told him, he sighed. "See ya in a bit."
He nodded, "Bye, Princess," he said, I left as he headed back into the living room.
Me: I'm on my way home.
I wouldn't have told her I was going home if not for her and Cynthia working the night shift tonight. I'm started walking down the block as Mom called me, I sighed and answered the phone, "Sup?"
"Why are you going home? I thought you were staying at Derek's tonight," she said, I shook my head.
"I didn't want to leave Kallie home alone," I told her, so I lied, she didn't need to know about what Dalilah was saying about me and Derek. Mom and Cynthia would start a war over it and we didn't need that right now.
"Alright, did Ty stay there," she asked, I nodded as I walked up to my house.
"Yeah, he did, he's in the middle of a game with Lukas and Issac," I said, Mom laughed as I smiled slightly.
I opened the door to the garage, "Was he winning," she asked, I shook my head.
"No, I think Issac was," I answered, chuckling, she snorted as I let out a breath. "Anyway, I'm gonna let you go so you can get back to work and tell Cynthia hi from me, please," I said, going into the garage, Mom let out a breath.
"Will do," she told me, I leaned back on the wall. "Love you."
"Love you too," I answered, before we hung up the phone, letting out a breath, I turned on the light and looked at my truck. My truck was gonna need an oil change here soon and I already bought the filter and oil for it, I shrugged to myself, "What else do I have to do," I muttered, pulling off my jacket and throwing it in the tailgate.
I opened the garage door then got in my truck, starting it before backing it out of the garage.

The front wheels of my truck were on ramps and I was underneath my truck with music blaring in the background. I was trying to break the bolt loose to drain the oil, but the bolt was stuck, "Motherfucker," I groaned, "c'mon, you stupid truck," I said, hitting the frame of it.
I heard someone laugh, "That was kinda aggressive," they said, I pushed myself out from under my truck ready to yell at the person to see Derek leaning back against the wall.
"Fuck off, Ridley," I told him, shaking my head, he gave me a small smile.
"You alright," he asked, moving to sit beside me, I shrugged and shook my head.
"I should be used to all of this," I said, rubbing my hands on my thighs as Derek shook his head.
"You shouldn't be," he told me, I raised an eyebrow at him. "No one should be used to any of this, Carls, you don't deserve any of this," he said, looking at me, I shrugged.
"It doesn't matter, I'll just keep ignoring all of it," I said, shaking my head. "It's worked so far."
"Fuck that," Derek said, I swallowed, he shook his head. "You don't deserve this, Carla, no one deserves this shit and I mean that," he told me, I sighed and rested my head on his shoulder. "You shouldn't have to ignore it," he said, squeezing one of my hands.
"I love you," I whispered, and he kissed the top of my head.
"I love you too," he answered, I closed my eyes and relaxed against him as a new song came on. "Hey, wanna dance with me," he asked, I looked up at him and snorted, nodding.
"Sure," I agreed, Derek got up and held out his hands, I grabbed them, letting him pull me up to my feet. He pulled me into him, his arms around my waist and I did the same, resting my head on his shoulder. "Dancing helps," he asked, kissing my head, I shrugged.
"I don't know, I think it's that somebody's just holding me with the music going with it," I said, he chuckled.
"So, dancing helps."
I laughed and nodded, "Yeah, I guess it does, Charmin'."
