Carla's POV
I was sitting on my bed when Mom and Cynthia came in, I looked up at her as she raised an eyebrow, "You good?"
I shrugged, "Yeah," I said, running a hand through my hair, Cynthia crossed her arms and shook her head.
"What's wrong," she asked, I sighed.
"Just didn't go anywhere close to how I wanted it to," I answered, shrugging and looking down at the floor. "Telling him how I did seems like the worst possible way to tell him that I love him."
That was when Zack and Ella came in, Zack shook his head, "Carls, you remember how I told Ella that I love her the first time," he asked, I snorted and nodded.
"Yeah, when the three of us were hanging out and you got super flustered trying to say something else so you ended up telling her that you love her and she just laughed," I said, he sighed and nodded as Ella laughed.
"Yeah, yeah, that was the first time that I told my fiance that I love her," he said, shaking his head and crossing his arms. "But it doesn't matter as long as you mean it, besides when you say it in a dream usually means that it's true."
"Why do you know this shit," I asked, he shrugged.
"Studied it in college."
I rolled my eyes as Mom smiled at me, "You need to get ready to go," she told me, I sighed as Ella went over to my closet.
"You know," Ella started, I took a deep breath and looked at her. "You never wore that dress you were supposed to wear to my sister's wedding," she said, digging around in my closet, I scoffed.
"I was sick, I wasn't gonna go to the wedding," I said, she shrugged and pulled it out.
"You can wear it now," she told me, I shook my head.
"No, Derek hasn't seen me in a dress since we were kids and I'd like to keep it like that," I answered, she rolled her eyes at me.
"Oh, c'mon, it's purple and black and probably looks good with leather jackets," she told me, I let out a breath.
"If I try it on, will you shut up," I asked, she shrugged as I got up and took the dress from her hands.
I went over to my closet and grabbed a pair of black leggings then went to the bathroom. I took off my clothes and started changing, I slipped the dress on and looked in the mirror. I bit my lip, the dress showed off my body more than I'd like it too, I shook my head and walked out, grabbing my clothes.
I walked into my room, throwing my clothes in the basket by my door, and glanced around my room, seeing my jacket on my desk. "I hate you," I said, looking at Ella as I grabbed the jacket and pulled it on. I wrapped my arms around myself, pulling my jacket tighter around me.
"You look great," Ella told me, shaking her head, I swallowed.
"Shut up," I told her, shaking my head. "I'm changing," I said, walking over to my closet as the doorbell rang. "Fuck."
"I've got it," Zack said, before running out of the room.
"Shit," I said, running after him. "Zack," I yelled, as he ran down the stairs and I slid down the banister, passing him and jumping down. I ran to the door as Zack grabbed my arm trying to stop me, I shoved him away from me. "Will you fuck off," I exclaimed, Zack shook his head.
"No."
"Zack, leave her alone," Derek called, I grinned as I opened the front door and Zack finally backed off.
Derek's jaw dropped when he saw me, "Holy shit," he whispered, my face started heating up as I swallowed. Derek was in nice jeans and a nice long sleeve shirt with a purple rose in his hand. I looked at him, raising an eyebrow, "I, um, I thi- you look amazing," he said, then paused and shook his head. "Not that you don't normal-" he stopped himself, taking a breath, "you know what? I'm just gonna shut up."
