Carla's POV

I was watching Princess and the Frog with Derek still sleeping beside me, I hadn't moved from how I was laying down. One of Derek's hands was tangled in the end of my hair, I started humming along with the songs before I started coughing and covering my mouth. Derek moved, groaning slightly, as he looked down at me, "You should be sleeping," he told me, I shook my head.

"Shut up," I told him, he rolled his eyes and put the back of his hand on my forehead.

"Shit, you cooled down a little bit," he said, I shrugged and went back to watching the movie. "Princess, you should go back to sleep."

I shook my head, "I don't want to go back to sleep," I answered, he let out a breath.

"Yeah, but you should still rest some more," he said, I shrugged and glanced at him.

"Hey, Der," I said, he raised an eyebrow at me, "thanks for staying with me."

He shook his head, "No problem, Carls," he told me, I smiled slightly.

I had fallen asleep again for a few hours when I woke up again, we watched movies for a few hours. "I'm bored," I said, Derek snorted and looked at me.

"Whatcha wanna do," he asked, in amusement, I shrugged.

"Have you read the Percy Jackson books," I asked, he shook his head.

"No, but I watched the movie and they weren't bad," he answered, I slapped his shoulder. "What the fuck," he exclaimed, I shook my head.

"Those movies are shit compared to the books," I told him, as he rubbed his shoulder, pouting.

"That hurt," he told me, I rolled my eyes.

"You're reading these books," I said, starting to get up but I got light headed immediately and almost fell.

Derek grabbed my waist and stood up, making sure that I wouldn't fall, "Sit back down, I'll go get the book from your shelf," he told me, I sighed and nodded, sitting down.

He ran upstairs as I yawned again, moving so that I was sitting beside the arm of the couch. Derek came back downstairs and sat beside me, "Okay, I got it," he told me, I nodded.

"Good, now start reading," I said, he snorted and opened the book, starting to read it out loud.

"Why the hell is Percy bait," Derek asked, in shock, I shook my head and snorted.

"Cause Annabeth is being smart, now shut up and keep reading," I said, he shook his head, looking at me.

"Would you do this to me," he asked, I nodded.

"To win, fuck yes," I said, he stared at me in shock as I rolled my eyes. "Keep reading, please."

He groaned and started reading again, before he stopped again, shaking his head, "He doesn't get a break, does he," he asked, I shrugged.

"No, he really doesn't, now will you stop stopping and just keep reading," I asked, Derek huffed before starting to read again.

***

Derek was coming back downstairs with the second book as Mom and Cynthia came in from the front door. "Got the second one," Derek said, sitting beside me, Mom and Cynthia looked at the book in his hands and shook their heads.

"Don't tell me you got him going on them now too," Cynthia said, looking at me, I shrugged.

"Bite me," I answered, Derek snorted.

"So this is why you got blue chocolate chip cookies," he asked, looking at me, I nodded.

"Just make that connection," I asked, he rolled his eyes.

"Shut up," he answered, I grinned as I started coughing, covering my mouth. "You good," he asked, I shrugged.

"Fine," my voice came out hoarse and I cleared my throat. "I hate being sick," I groaned, Mom shook her head as she came over to us.

She felt my forehead, "You're starting to cool off a bit more," she told me, I sighed.

"I told you I should've stayed home yesterday, I was sick," I said, smiling slightly, she shook her head.

"Shut up," she told me, rolling her eyes, I shrugged.

"No."

"You got him hooked on those books now," Cynthia said, I smirked and looked at Derek to see him reading the summary of it. "Why do you have to be so obsessed with those books," Cynthia asked me, sitting on the recliner, I rolled my eyes.

"I'm not."

"You definitely are," Derek said, I glared at him.

"Will you shut up," I asked, he looked at me, tilting his head.

"No."

"Ass," I muttered, he smirked. "Oh, yeah, you remember how Annabeth almost dies in that movie," I asked, as he looked at me.

"No spoilers," he warned, I smirked.

"She dies at the end of the book," I told him, his jaw dropped as he just stared at me.

"There is no way that Annabeth would be the one that ends up dead," he said, I shrugged and smirked.

"Wanna bet," I asked, and he glared at me.

"Why would you tell me that," he exclaimed, I shrugged.

"You were being a dick."

Mom sighed, "Derek, shouldn't you be heading home," she asked, he nodded as he got up.

"I'm borrowing your book," he told me, I smirked.

"Okay, bye, Charming," I said, he headed to the front door.

"Bye, Princess," he answered, before leaving, Cynthia looked at me, shaking her head.

"Annabeth doesn't die in the book or any of the books for that matter," she said, I nodded.

"I know that and you know that, but he doesn't know that," I answered, shrugging, Mom slapped my shoulder playfully.

"Stop being so mean to your best friend," she told me, I shook my head.

"No, he started it," I said, Mom scoffed and shook her head at me.
