Derek's POV
I walked up to my locker on the first day back at school from break, sighing, I didn't want to be back at school today. But, sadly, I didn't get a choice in that matter. I opened my locker to grab my stuff for Creative Writing when something exploded and covered me.
I froze before looking down at my clothes to see them covered in something purple, I tried to wipe off my face only to make it worse as Carla started laughing. I turned in her direction to see she had her phone pointing at me and I shook my head, "Carla Smith," I exclaimed, she grinned, sticking her phone in her pocket and bolting away from me. I chased after her, following her up a flight of stairs.
I found Rylee, Charlie, Lukas, Tyler, and Issac all talking and went over to them as Rylee gasped and the guys started laughing. I huffed, "Where's Carla," I asked, Tyler shrugged as Lukas took a small step closer to him.
"That way," Tyler told me, pointing down the hall, I shook my head and looked at Tyler's and Lukas's shoes to see the soles of Carla's boots.
"You can't lie for shit, Wilder," I told him, he shrugged as I shook my head, "Where's your sister?"
Lukas shrugged, "I haven't seen her," he told me, as Issac shook his head and Rylee started laughing.
"Alright, that's it," I said, shaking my head again. "Carla, stop using the two idiots as shields," I said, Carla snorted and poked her head from behind Tyler and Lukas.
"Hiya, Charming," she said, I took a deep breath as slime dripped down my face from my hair.
"What the actual hell, Carla," I asked, she shrugged, grinning at me.
"The old prank war," she said, I shook my head. "You were the last one to pull one, till now."
"Are we really bringing that back now," I asked, she shrugged.
"If you're game," she said, I snorted and nodded.
"That's great, remember payback's a bitch," I told her, she laughed as I wiped slime off my hands and onto my pants.
Carla bit her lip, "I wish ya luck, Charmin'," she told me, I snorted.
"This better not stain skin, Princess," I told her, her smile dropped and she looked away from me. "You better be joking."
She shook her head, "It took me like an hour just to get it off my hands," she answered, I stared at her.
"Carla!"
"I'd like to say that it was only supposed to get on your shirt," she told me, Charlie broke down laughing as Rylee looked between Carla and me.
"Hey, hey, Mr. Lynn is coming," Rylee said, Carla's eyes widened.
"Shit, I'm so suspended this time," she muttered, I shook my head.
"Just trust me, alright," I asked, she let out a breath and nodded as Mr. Lynn stopped beside us.
"Mr. Ridley," I swallowed and turned to him.
"Mr. Lynn," I answered, he raised an eyebrow at me, looking me up and down, he shook his head.
"This hasn't happened in a while," he said, his eyes going to Carla as I nodded.
"Yeah, I know, I'm surprised it's happening, usually that means Carls is next," I said, looking at her, I smirked slightly as she bit her lip and nodded.
"You know, it always sucks when this starts happening," she said, returning my small smirk. After the one time we got caught pulling pranks, we never got caught again and even though everyone knew that it was us doing it to each other, Mr. Lynn couldn't do anything to either of us without proof.
