Carla's POV
Derek pulled into the parking lot and parked as close to the front door as possible, he looked at me and I raised an eyebrow at him. "You ready for this," he asked, I knew that he meant the school found out we were dating.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
He shrugged, "Cause, I know that you don't like putting attention on yourself," he answered, I shrugged.
"Don't worry about that, Charming, I can handle it," I answered, he nodded, smiling. "We're in it together."
"Alright," he agreed, leaning over the middle seat and pressing a kiss to my lips, "I love you."
I shook my head, sighing, "Stop that," I told him, he grinned at me as we got out of my truck, grabbing our bags.
I shut my door as Rylee waved at me from a few cars down, coming over, "Hey, Carla," she said, I grinned.
"Hey, Ry," I answered, as I heard the other door shut. Derek came around to us and wrapped an arm around my waist and kissed my cheek, I smiled and scrunched my nose up.
"Hold up, what the fuck was that," Rylee asked, pointing at us, I let out a breath as Derek laughed.
"I asked her out," Derek told her, she grinned and shook her head.
"Finally," she exclaimed, looking at me, I rolled my eyes.
"Shut up," I told her, and she shook her head.
"No, I've been telling you to start dating him since Halloween," she told me, I shook my head.
"Will you stop it," I asked, Derek grinned and looked at me.
"Since Halloween, huh," he asked, I looked at him, feeling my cheeks heat up.
"Shut it, Charming," I said, he shook his head and his eyes sparkled.
"Nah, nah, I wanna hear about this," he told me, I shook my head and looked back at Rylee.
"You suck."
She laughed and shrugged, "I gotta go find Charlie," she said, before looking at us again, grinning. "Don't get caught like Charlie did."
She headed inside as I raised an eyebrow and Derek's jaw dropped, "What is she talking about?"
He sighed, "The day that they first started talking, Charlie came to lunch a mess from making out with her," he answered, my jaw dropped.
"Rylee," I exclaimed, she glanced back, grinning at me before walking inside.
Derek shook his head, "C'mon, let's just get to class," he said, I nodded and he didn't move his arm from my waist. We walked inside and some people glanced at us while others didn't acknowledge us.
He kissed the top of my head as we went to my locker, Myra stepped in front of me and I groaned, "What now," I asked, Myra scoffed at me and looked at Derek, pouting.
I wanted to slap that pout off her face, "How could you like her," she asked Derek, he scoffed. "She's just a slut," she said, I stepped forward and Derek pulled me two steps back.
"Talk about my girlfriend like that again and you won't like me," he said, his eyes narrowed on her and he kept a firm grip on my waist, but not tight enough that it'd hurt.
Her jaw dropped, "But, Der, how could you even date her," she asked, I glared at her and tried stepping forward again, but Derek didn't let me move an inch from my spot.
"Maybe cause I'm a decent person," I shot at her, rolling my eyes, Derek looked at me as I shook my head.
"Cause she's my best friend and I can't imagine being with anyone else," he said, I looked at him as he shook his head at her. "Now, we have to get to class," he said, as we walked past her.
