Derek's POV
I was at my locker and sighed, today was my eighteenth birthday and I knew that the guys weren't gonna do anything for it, but I wasn't sure what my girlfriend would do. I felt someone tap my shoulder and I turned to them, "Hey, Princess," I said, smiling, she was grinning.
"Happy birthday, Charming!"
I let out another breath and shook my head, "You didn't do anything, did you," I asked, she shook her head.
"No," she said, then paused and I rolled my eyes.
"What'd you do," I asked, shutting my locker and crossing my arms.
I leaned against my locker as she shrugged, "I made you something," she said, I raised an eyebrow at her. She pulled her bag off and pulled a bowl out of it, "Brownies and blue chocolate chip cookies," she said, I laughed.
"This is what I get," I asked, she nodded.
"We don't really do birthday presents," she said, shrugging, I grinned at her.
"Thank you," I said, giving her a kiss before taking the bowl from her hands and taking the lid off. I grabbed a cookie and held it out to her, "Grab one, I know you haven't eaten breakfast," I said, and she snorted and grabbed a brownie.
"Thanks," she told me, I nodded as I sighed.
"We gotta go to class, Princess," I said, she groaned and nodded.
"Yeah, let's go," she said, we started heading to first period and wrapped her arm around my waist, I grinned as I took a bite of the cookie.

I sat at our lunch table and put the bowl of treats on the table next to my lunch, everyone was already eating while Carla was still in the lunch line. Rylee smiled and pointed at the bowl, "What's all that," she asked, I shrugged.
"Carla made me brownies and cookies for my birthday," I said, she nodded.
"Could I have one," she asked, I nodded and passed it over to her.
"Go for it," I answered, she grinned and grabbed a brownie.
"Why did she make you that stuff," Charlie asked, I shrugged.
"Birthdays aren't that big of a deal to us," I said, shrugging, "and she's amazing at baking so I guess she just decided to bake me this stuff instead."
Carla snorted and sat down beside me, "Yep, and I suck at cooking otherwise," she said, I smiled at her as she let out a breath. "Anyway, what were we talking about," she asked, Issac shrugged, shaking his head.
"Why he had a bowl of treats," he told her, she nodded.
"Oh, yeah."
Lukas shook his head, slightly, "What are you doing for your birthday this year," he asked, I shrugged and glanced at the ceiling.
"I, um, I was thinking laser tag or something this weekend," I answered, the guys grinned as Carla nodded. I looked at Rylee and Issac, "And it'd be a lot more fun if you brought younger siblings with, if you decide to go."
Issac shook his head, "I'm going and I'm sure Sam and Luna will love to go," he said, I nodded as Rylee sighed.
"I'm sure Jordan would love to go," she said, I snorted and nodded.
"I figured," I said, Carla grinned and shook her head. "If you want you can invite Zack and El," she nodded.

I drove up to Carla's house to pick her up for laser tag, I got out of my shitty car that was Mom's for years before she got a new one and left it to me. I walked up to the front door about to knock when I scoffed, opening the front door and going inside, "Princess," I called, I heard movement from upstairs.
"Hold on for a bit," she called down to me, I nodded and walked over to the stairs, leaning against the wall and waiting for her to come downstairs. She started coming downstairs, grinning at me, that was when she slipped down the stairs, "Shit!"
I caught her before she fell down the last few steps of the stairs, "Are you okay," I asked, she nodded slightly.
"Yeah, thanks," she told me, I nodded.
"Never thought I'd actually see the day where Carla Smith was falling for me," I said, grinning, she shook her head and rolled her eyes at me.
"Shut up."
I shook my head and gave her a kiss, "Nope," I answered, she sighed, shaking her head slightly.
"Am I driving," she asked, I shook my head.
"No, we will be taking my car," I told her, and she tilted her head and raised an eyebrow at me.
"Do you mean the one that you said you were scared to drive," she asked me, I shook my head.
"No, no," I said, holding up a finger, "I said I was nervous about driving it," I said, and she rolled her eyes.
"Same fucking difference," she told me, I sighed and bit my lip.
"Fine, fine, whatever, it's driving better now," I said, she nodded.
"Alright, let's go," she said, I was about to nod when I stopped.
"Don't you need to take care of Dakota," I asked, she shook her head, smiling at me.
"Nope, already got that part taken care of, we just gotta go," she told me, I nodded and we headed for the front door. We walked outside as she rested her head on my shoulder and I kissed the top of her head.
"I love you," I told her, she shook her head and smiled slightly.
"You really need to stop that," she told me, I let out a breath, I knew that she didn't believe me or maybe she did at least a little but she couldn't say it yet and I wasn't gonna push for her to say it.
"I'm never going to," I said, grinning at her as we got into my car.
She bit her lips as she put on her seat belt and shook her head, "You're a dork," she told me, I grinned.
"Good."

I followed Carla into the lazer tag place to see that everyone was already there, except for Jacob and I had no idea where he was. That was when the three kids ran over to Carla to say hi and hug her, which got her to laugh, grinning at them. I looked at everyone else, "Where's Jacob," I asked, Issac shook his head.
"He just texted me a little bit ago to tell me that he was able to make it," he told me, I nodded as Rylee looked at Carla.
"Where's Zack and Ella," she asked, Carla shrugged.
"They already had plans that they couldn't cancel," she answered, everyone else nodded as I let out a breath.
"What do we want for teams," Carla asked, I shrugged.
"I don't know, who are we having as captains," I asked, as Issac smirked.
"Well, the birthday boy is captain of one team," he told me, I sighed and nodded.
"Alright."
Rylee grinned, "No couples," she said, Carla and I glanced at each other.
"You're screwed," we said in unison, as everyone else laughed.
"Carla's the other captain," Charlie said, smirking at her, she let out a breath and nodded.
"Alright, but I got Rylee on my team," she said, I nodded.
"So I get Charlie," I said, Lukas let out a breath.
"I'm on Derek's team," he said, I nodded.
"We're on Carla's," Jordan, Sam, and Luna said in unison, she snorted as I laughed.
That left Issac and Carla and I looked at him, he sighed, shaking his head, "I'm on Derek's to semi make it even," he said, I nodded and let out a breath.
"Who's ready to play some laser tag," I asked, everyone cheered and we went to pay.
