Carla's POV
I sat up from doing bench press, sweat running down my face, as Derek moved to sit beside me, "Any better?"
I shook my head, letting out a breath, "Bad to say that I'm still pretty pissed," I asked, looking at him, he shook his head.
"Nah, makes sense," he told me, before bumping his shoulder into mine, I snorted and did it back. That was when his eyes lit up, "Fuck, I forgot," he said, grabbing his jacket from the floor, I raised an eyebrow.
"Forgot what," I asked, he shook his head, opening the chest pocket of his leather jacket.
"I have your Christmas present with me," he said, grinning, I shook my head.
"You know, sometimes I forget how much you liked giving presents," I told him, laughing, he shrugged.
"Yeah, that didn't change," he said, snorting as he dropped his jacket on the floor and he held a ring in his hand. I stared at it as my mind went to what the ring could mean, "I'm not proposing," he said, reading my mind as he looked up at me, I let out a breath. "Yet," he muttered, I nodded, a smile pulling at my lips.
"I figured, Charming."
"Let me see your hand," he said, holding out his hand and ignoring my comment, I gave him my right hand.
He slipped it onto my ring finger and kissed the back of my hand, grinning, before letting go of my hand, "A ring," I asked, looking at it, he nodded. It looked like a tiara that was black with purple gems. I shook my head and smiled. I pulled it off to look at it closer to see the inside of the band was engraved, saying, Derek's Princess. I slipped it back on, "Thank you," I said, kissing his cheek, he nodded.
"Do you like it though," he asked, I nodded.
"I love it," I told him, and he grinned. He gave me a kiss and rested his forehead against mine, "I wish I did something better for your present," I whispered, shutting my eyes.
"I'm sure whatever you did that I'll love it," he said, I swallowed and nodded.
"How'd you know that the ring would fit," I asked, raising an eyebrow, he shrugged.
"I asked Hannah and Cynthia," he said, and I let out a breath. "But, they both told me that you probably wouldn't end up wearing it often," he said, raising an eyebrow at me and I nodded.
"You know how I mess with my hair," I asked, he nodded, "yeah, so, when I wear jewelry I mess with that instead and usually that ruins it so I stop wearing it."
He tilted his head and nodded, "Okay, fair," he said, wrapping an arm around me and pulling me into his side. "I love you, Princess," he whispered, resting his forehead against the side of my head.
"I love you too, Charming," I said, and he kissed my cheek. "What are you doing," I asked, as he continued to kiss my head and I laughed.
"What I want," he said, as he kissed my nose, I shook my head, laughing more.
"Derek!"
He chuckled, "I'm not stopping," he said, I grinned and pushed him away. "Hey, stop it," he exclaimed, I leaned my head back, looking at the ceiling.
"Are you done yet," I asked, looking at him, he shook his head as Mom and Cynthia walked in and he pressed a kiss to my lips.
"Hey," Cynthia said, we looked at them to see that they had changed out of their uniforms.
"You two ready to go," Mom asked, I nodded.
"Yeah, just let me change quick," I said, getting up and grabbing my clothes from the floor. I left the weight room and went to the bathroom, I locked the stall behind me and changed into the clothes I was wearing this morning and noticed that my knuckles were starting to bruise. "Well, I guess this is what happens when you're at the punching bag for at least a half an hour," I muttered to myself, shaking out my hands and leaving the bathroom.
