47: Izumi vs Rescue Team: Part 1

Itachi's POV:

I underestimated her. No, all of us did. Normally, with 2 anbu teams, we'd get things done fast. Especially with help but here we are struggling against one S-Rank rogue shinobi. If each rogue shinobi in the Akatsuki was just as strong as Izumi, it's no wonder that the kazekage got abducted which also brings another question. How did that informant manage to gather such valuable information on the Akatsuki? There can only be 2 conclusions. Either there's a spy in the Akatsuki that infiltrated the group or either there's another person from the leaf that holds such prowess to gather so much information without getting killed. If there's a spy then it's likely that it's Izumi because it would explain why she massacred the elders so suddenly. What a huge majority of the Akatsuki have in common apart from being rogue shinobis is that they've killed a lot of people or killed some important figures.

Hidan being a serial killer in his village, Kakuzu killing his superiors, the Hidden Mist Swordsmen killing for a lot of people when being ordered, Sasori killing the third kazekage, then there's Izumi who killed the clan elders. However, I dismissed the idea of Izumi possibly being a spy immediately. If she was a spy then she would've led us to the kazekage instead of intercepting us. I can't sense any chakra signatures around the area so she could easily lead us to the extraction without getting exposed if she were a spy. It must be the latter. Although, something's off with her but I can't figure it out.

Izumi's POV:

ZEEETTTSSSUUU!! GO THE F-

AWWAAYY!!!! I jumped while doing a back flip midair to dodge a water jutsu from Kakashi then proceeded to punch Sakura in the stomach after side stepping another one of her atrocious and yet slow punches. I subtly threw a quick glance at the Venus-flytrap man who was hiding in the ground, watching the battle. I was led to believe that he was watching the battle to either tell me when to pull out or if a new member needed to be sent if I was defeated. Even so, it's annoying! 'Girl quit complaining. You still have to stall for 2 hours, 36 minutes and 42 seconds.' I can literally imagine Mew pushing up their imaginary glasses and looking at their imaginary watch on their left wrist. You've been counting the whole time?! Also that's so long! 'I swear you're on your period aren't you? You're never this whiny unless it's that time of the month.'  STFU!!!!

I kept bantering with Mew as I kicked some random anbu member in the shin while doing a quick backflip. Although I ended up kicking Shisui in the face upon landing because he had the bright idea to try sneaking up behind me but horribly failed. That's your fault Shisui. His mask got destroyed from my kick, he would've gotten an ugly imprint of my sandal on his face if he didn't body flicker away in time although he still felt the kick. I could tell because after his mask fell, his face was as pale as a sheet of paper with his eyes comically widened like Kakashi's. 'BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA!!' Mew, keep it down! I barely managed to dodge a rasengan from Naruto due to Mew's obnoxious and loud laughter ringing my ears. If it weren't for Naruto screaming his jutsu name then I would've gotten hit just now. At that moment, Mew did as I said, and their laughter turned into ugly snorts and giggles that echoed through my mindscape.

I focused on the battle again after dodging another one of Kakashi's chidori and retaliated with a fireball that was literally blown on his face. Needless to say, that got him to jump away immediately while coughing from the sudden intake of smoke. Feeling Itachi's chakra signature behind me, I immediately leapt forward while turning around midair to see 2 anbus above me with their sword pointed towards me. I held my rapier up to clash with the swords and focused chakra in my free hand. I stretched my fingers out and directed it to the ground. I had no time to angle my body upwards, if I kept descending to the ground, my back would meet the ground first and the jutsu that lets me control this body would end.
