48: Izumi vs Rescue Team: Part 2

Izumi's POV:

I spammed double team to screw with the rescue team. Needless to say, Naruto started panicking and was practically no different from a headless chicken at this point. I was running so fast around them to the point the Uchihas couldn't seem to react to my attacks at all meaning their sharingans couldn't keep up with my speed. "It's like she's as fast as dad!" Naruto exclaimed in disbelief. Am I? I don't really think so. I'm not exactly proficient with teleport and the hiraishin since I have to keep somewhat of a low profile. Double team just doubles my speed each time I use it. In terms of pure speed, I believe Minato has me beat. Although I made sure to have my mangekyo sharingan activated to leave flashes of red to make them think they're in a powerful genjutsu. I don't want them to report to Minato about my Pokémon moves just yet.

I opened my mouth and used flamethrower. All my clones did the same although it's slightly weaker. They gasped in unison from finding themselves surrounded in fire but Kakashi quickly recovered immediately used the Water Barrier jutsu while the Uchihas did the same after copying Kakashi's hand signs along with a few of the other anbus that knew water style. Stupid. Should've countered it with the Earth Barrier jutsu instead. I closed my eyes to concentrate then opened them to use Thunder Shock. There's no guarantee that they'll all be paralyzed so I'll need to be careful. I just need to slow them down for a bit and get back to the extraction. Mew, how much longer? '2 hours and 25 minutes.' Seriously? Do I have some ability that lets me think faster? I felt like it's been at least 10 minutes! 'Somewhat, you kind of developed that skill on your own since you tend to overthink a lot that you just developed some sort of thought acceleration skill with time. That was due to worrying about the future too much.'

I brought my arms up and above my head to use whirlpool and slam it into the gaping rescue team. 'Izumi, you really need to stop worrying about things that didn't even happen yet. It's understandable if you want to think of a way to prevent it however you seem to have failed to notice the changes that have influenced people around you with an exception of the people you care deeply about and the people you deem important for the future.' What do you mean? 'How dense you are around some people and I'm not talking about Itachi.' I still don't understand? '.... I swear, you're a loss cause.' HEY!

I dodged another chidori from Kakashi while blocking a slash from an anbu. I was pretty much on auto pilot mode, my mind had wandered off about what Mew was talking about. Dense? I'm not dense am I?

Mew's POV:

This girl had a love life. It may be short but it's still a love life. And yet she fails to notice the fact that an unexpected member of the Akatsuki had developed a crush on her. Not only that, she also fails to notice the fact that those two are also in this world despite having met them before in this life. I looked at 2 portraits that Izumi had painted during the timeskip out of boredom. Although, those two have also failed to recognize her. Oh well, if Izumi spends more time with them, she'll recognize them. Her observation skills have gotten better during the past few years.

She was giving the fight half her attention but she was still doing well at stalling them. She didn't let them get the upper hand even once. It was like she was teaching her little sister how to solve a math equation while being in the middle of playing an RPG game with her friends in high school. Oh wait, she did that before. Many times. Being one of the few individuals for being able actually to multitask has its benefits, I know this because I happen to be one of those individuals.

Anyways, I just watched the battle unfold while Izumi's mind was elsewhere, trying to look through her memories while fending off the rescue team. I summoned some poffins and munched away on them, patiently waiting for the fight to end.
