58: A wary Tobi

Izumi's POV:

I leisurely followed Tobi like a lost puppy while he was having the time of his life. By that, I mean he's running around, hiding behind trees, acting like a lovesick fool. I've always laughed at canon Deidara's misery of having Tobi as his partner but now I pity him since I'm experiencing the exact same problems. Perhaps capturing him was a mini blessing for him, it'd be preferable to think you're dead and doing nothing than to deal with the childishness of Tobi. After all, the man child is currently trying to annoy me 24/7. The most hilarious and stupid stunts that Tobi pulls are on screen. He's currently pulling off perhaps the most hilarious one, the "I'm a schoolgirl in love with her senpai!"

As we walked, I sensed Zetsu coming and in a few seconds, he popped out of the ground in front of us. Tobi went serious immediately, using his regular voice instead of his childish one, "Izumi." I merely nodded and walked away. Far enough to not hear anything for humans but due to my enhanced sense of hearing, I could still hear them.

"Hidan and Kakuzu are dead, they both got killed by Kagune Shirogane about an hour ago." I could tell Obito was upset, "Seems like we'll have to step things up a bit. Either way, we just need the Nine Tails and the Eight Tails. Izumi and I will retrieve the Eight Tails while Pein, Konan, Juzo and Kisame will retrieve the Nine Tails." Just as I expected, they're speeding things up. However, I'm not sure if Minato caught Danzo yet. He never told me, since he didn't it's safe to assume that he hasn't caught that bastard yet. I wasn't surprised at all. With how lenient Hiruzen was with Danzo, the bastard definitely used the leniency to his advantage to increase his influence over shinobis and political influence.

There's nothing much I can do about his influence over the ROOT but his political influence mainly lies on his old teammates who were also high ranking elders in the council. If I can kill those two then Danzo's chances of becoming hokage will be nonexistent if something happens to Minato. I inwardly smirked, knowing when would be the perfect to kill them. During the attack to capture Naruto will be perfect. If I thought of this earlier, I would've definitely killed them both during the massacre. Pinning the blame on others isn't hard since I can easily slip past whatever guards they have by going invisible or by simply teleporting or body flickering into their place. So I can easily pin the blame on the guards.

Those two have done nothing to contribute to the growth of the village but stagnated it for power, they need to die no matter what. I narrowed my eyes at the thought while making sure Obito and Zetsu didn't notice my sudden change in behavior. As long as those two die, Minato shouldn't have much of a problem to get rid of Danzo. He has more shinobis on his side as hokage and has all the powerhouse shinobis under his beck and call. I'm also quite sure he also knows where the ROOT HQ is. He might even get rid of Danzo before the attack.

I shouldn't worry about this for now. The biggest problem is how I get B away from Tobi and I. I'd prefer to try keeping things as similar to canon as possible starting now to plan through things accordingly. B is a perfect jinchuriki and is greatly protected by the Hidden Cloud. With the threat of the Akatsuki looming, security around him has definitely increased greatly and he's probably confined in the village. But that's useless against Obito. It'd be best to simply have Zetsu watch Pein and Konan during the invasion of the Leaf. It'll be easier for me to put a genjutsu on Obito and make him think he caught B instead of having him actually capture B.

After all, Obito definitely won't let B get away unlike Team Taka. I'm sure his resistance against genjutsu has definitely gotten stronger after I screwed with him using with a genjutsu which was over a decade ago (Refer to Chp 12). No one has ever been able to break out of my genjutsu although I have high confidence in using my genjutsu against him again. He only experienced it once and it was very brief. Not only that, I've improved my genjutsu prowess immensely as years passed.
