53: How to babysit annoying children

Izumi's POV:

I nodded at Pein's words before he dismissed us. So I technically have to babysit Tobi when I'm around the others but have to be completely professional around him when we're alone. Not difficult to pull off but I don't know if he thinks I'm suspicious but there's a high chance that he does. After all, Pein specifically told me to be partners with him which was definitely done on the orders of the hyper man. Seems like I'll have to lay low for a while and not leave his sight too much. From now on, I should stop visiting the village and only send reports of extractions. No matter how much I want to save the jinchuriki lives during the extraction, the risks were high and we were lucky enough that no one died but that was mainly because of my interventions. However if there are too many interventions, they'll realize there's a spy which will make things really hard.

I left the meeting room and went to my house in the village. I wanted to eat some food, it was always past 9 at night because the meeting lasted for so long. Not only that I still need to wash my hair! Seems like this will be a long night. Oh well, it doesn't really matter. I stepped into the shower and started washing my hair for pretty much 2-3 hours. It probably shouldn't have taken that long but the poison had dried up, making it much harder and annoying to wash. Not only that, just touching it physically was enough to literally poison me even though it's dried. Compared to canon Sasori, this Sasori had improved the potency of his poisons much more than his canon counterpart. Just one touch of the poison can easily prove fatal.

The poison has the same properties but Sasori added an effect that made it much more dangerous. Canon Sasori's poison needs to enter the bloodstream to be fatal but this Sasori's poison simply needs the slightest amount of body heat to get absorbed into the body to get into the bloodstream. How I found out was from spying on him whenever I'm not on missions or subtly leading him on to talk about his knowledge of poison, it didn't take long to get to the point that he started showing me how it worked, using rats for demonstration.

Anyways, after showering, I went to the living room. Normally, I would've went to sleep and have Mew keep my body awake but they're sleeping right now. As much as I want to wake them up, they're just as tired as me. They kept tabs on Zetsu and the other Akatsuki members during the fight against Deidara and Sasori. They used all sorts of reasonable means to slow them down. This means using Hail, Blizzard, Sandstorm, any sort of move that changes the weather. This meant turning a perfectly lush forest into a wasteland from using Sandstorm, turning a meadow into a snow field and more. As for Zetsu, Mew spammed all sorts of rock and ground type moves to slow him down.

I suppose I should work on making a cure.... Wait, I still need to work on creating something to go against the Otsutsukis. With Tobi monitoring me, I definitely won't have a lot of space and time for that. I need to do something that makes Tobi completely trust me. After brainstorming a bit, I came up with a plan.

I'll just go along with canon but not send any notices of extractions and slowly kill off the Akatsuki myself. I planned to use Kotoamatsukami on as many Akatsuki members as I could before the war comes to get them to fight on the Allied Shinobi Forces side. Although, it'd be preferable to save it in case anything goes horribly wrong which I have no doubt that it will. Plans never go accordingly for god's sake. I still need to get the eternal mangekyo sharingan which is going to be troublesome since I can't just get Minato to walk up to Fugaku and ask for mangekyo sharingan eyes. No matter how close they are, there's no way Fugaku would just give Minato a free pair without any good reason.

As for the Akatsuki that are believed to be dead, I saved their lives, sealed their chakra and left them in separate black rooms with no furniture then had it locked up with seals while being guarded by the birds in the Lyrical Forest. The seals planted on the perimeter of the rooms were to make them soundproof. Sasori and Deidara are still unconscious but when they wake up, they'll think they're dead after they try walking around for a bit. They'll never hit anything because they'll immediately get thrown in a genjutsu by the seals I planted in the room for extra measures. I had some birds prepare similar rooms for the other Akatsuki members.
