After Breakfast in the Mittal Family House:

Ruhanika sighed deeply as she stepped out of her home, the heavy weight of the breakfast confrontation still clinging to her like a suffocating blanket. The sharp words exchanged around the table echoed in her mind, reminding her of the tension that had brewed within the walls of her home. She glanced back at the house, its once comforting familiarity now feeling like a cage, before turning toward her college. At her side, Wasoolie trotted along, his tail wagging enthusiastically, blissfully unaware of the turmoil swirling in her heart.

"Come on, buddy! Let's go make some art!" she said, her voice brightening as she patted him affectionately, trying to shake off the lingering shadows of the morning.

As they arrived at the college entrance, Ruhanika spotted Mira Aunty's café across the street, a comforting haven where she often worked part-time. With a reluctant sigh, she handed Wasoolie over to Mira Aunty, who greeted him with a warm smile and a scratch behind the ears.

"Be a good boy, Wasoolie!" Ruhanika called out, watching him settle happily at her feet, feeling a small sense of relief wash over her as he nestled into the familiar surroundings.

"Hey! Ruha!" A voice interrupted her thoughts, pulling her back into the present. It was her best friend, Komal Goel, rushing toward her, panting slightly from her exertion.

"Stop! How can you walk so fast? I'm tired after just fifteen minutes!" Komal exclaimed, playfully putting her hands on her hips, her breath coming in quick bursts.

Ruhanika smiled, a glimmer of light breaking through her clouded mind. "My pace wasn't that fast; you're just being a lazy ass! Hahaha!" She laughed, her laughter ringing like chimes, momentarily drowning out the chaos of her thoughts.
