I can't believe what is happening. It's like my world has turned upside down. He can't be the one who did that... no, it can't be true. How could I have been so blind and not seen the signs? On one hand, I'm happy that I'm officially married to the person I love, even if it's only on paper. But on the other hand, I feel like I've always been a trophy for them, a tool to achieve their own goals. My so-called family sold me off for their own benefit, without any regard for my feelings or well-being. And the person I care for, the one who bought me, did it for a reason I don't even know. It's like I'm living in a nightmare, and I can't wake up from it.
We are both staring into each other's eyes - my tear-filled, black orbs with light brown. One pair of eyes reflects tears and betrayal, while the other shows sympathy and guilt. Neither pair of eyes wants to break this eye contact, as if we are pouring our hearts out without words.Despite the pain that lingers between us, neither of us wants to break this eye contact. It feels like we are both trying to convey our feelings without words, taking the opportunity to say everything we've been holding back for so long.
I am the one who breaks eye contact; I can't bear to continue. I feel betrayed. How could he do this? He did the same thing as the Thakurs. They also wanted to buy me, and at the time, I didn't even know the reason.
I started loving and admiring him in just two days, and now I discover that... wait, why am I even thinking this nonsense? What if this isn't true? What if he did all of this to save me? What if...
"Congratulations to you too, Mr. Mittal. I have become your son-in-law from now on," his voice snaps me out of my thoughts.
He and my family are busy celebrating our marriage with each other when I try to walk away, but my luck fails me when a voice stops me from moving.
"Mrs. Shekhawat... Mrs. Ruhanika Shekhawat... Ma'am..." Who is this man?
"Yes!" I finally decide to turn.
"I am Aman Joshi, Sir's personal secretary, assistant, and bodyguard. And I am..." A stern voice interrupts him from speaking further.
"Yes sir, I am doing your work." Aman starts to stutter in between. After calming his breath, he says to me, "Ma'am, you have to pack your bags; we are leaving from here in just 30 minutes."
"Ma'am, now that you are married to my sir, you have to come with us and start your new journey," he explains after seeing my confusion.
"I am not coming with you and your sir. He wants to marry me for whatever reason, but I don't care. I will not come with you, and that's final." I say in annoyance and anger, angry tears ready to slip from my eyes as I stare into his eyes, which seem amused.
I walk away from there in search of my baby. He must be hungry by now. They haven't given him his food and have locked him in the storeroom for too long.
