It was around 10 p.m., and I stood on the terrace, the cool night breeze ruffling my hair as I spoke on the phone.

"So, are you ready for your wedding?" I asked, my voice filled with a mixture of excitement and nervousness.

"Hmm, I am. Are you?" Rooh whispered back, her voice soft and full of emotion. "I can't believe that we are really getting married in a proper way."

"Me too," I replied, falling silent for a moment as I gathered my thoughts. After a while, I added, "Rooh, I don't know if I should say this, but I feel like you're hiding something from us. There's a sense that something bad is going to happen."

She sighed loudly, trying to dismiss my concerns. "It's nothing, jaan. You must be feeling nervous, or it's just the wedding jitters. Everything is perfect. Don't worry, I won't do anything that would hurt you or our family."

"I trust you, Rooh. It's just that I feel very uneasy, like something is going to happen. I know you're strong, but please don't hide anything from me that could harm you. I can't take the risk of losing you," I whispered, the anxiety evident in my voice. I had a nagging feeling that she was keeping something from me, something that was bothering her, and I wanted to know what it was.

"Okay, enough. It's late now. Tomorrow is our wedding, and we need to sleep," she ordered gently.

I chuckled at her assertiveness. "Okay, okay, my ninja princess. I'm going to sleep because I can't compromise my handsome face."

"Bye, love you, patidev," she whispered.

"Love you too, jaan," I replied before ending the call.

Despite her reassurances, an uneasy feeling lingered in my chest. I couldn't shake the sensation that something was amiss, especially after her return from the warehouse. Sighing, I decided to check on my siblings before going to bed. This routine had been in place since Abhimaan was born. Abhimaan and Vivaan had their room, but tonight they were staying in mine, afraid that I would ignore them after the wedding. I chuckled at the thought as I made my way to Chinni's room. She was like my first daughter, the significant age gap making me naturally more protective of her.
