"Do your part, I'll just be here. Ask me if nahihirapan ka." I put my bag down on the seat adjacent to his, sitting down.

I heard him scoff, putting down his laptop and turning it on. "Madali lang 'to."

"Okay, sure. Great for me." From my bag, I took out the book I'm currently reading. "Don't disturb me then." I smiled sweetly at him, getting comfortable on my seat.

Tinignan niya ako, eyeing my book. "Sure."

"Be mindful of the time," paalala ko. "I'm gonna set an alarm so alam mo how much time nalang meron."

I took my phone, setting an alarm and placing it on the space in the table between us. Then, binuksan ko na ang libro ko at sumandal.

"You can start na," I told him nang makitang nakatitig pa rin siya sa akin.

Ibinaling na niya ang tingin sa laptop at nakita kong binuksan na niya ang Docs na sinend ko sa kanya. He browsed through the pages of summarized studies and other info that I already wrote.

"Isn't this enough already?" he asked. "Ang haba na nito."

"The goal it to reach fifty sources. Alam mo sana 'yun kung pumasok ka n'ong sinabi 'yun."

I saw him make a face, mocking how I just spoke. Akala ata ng gago hindi ko siya nakikita. Hindi ko nalang pinansin at nagsimula na sa binabasa ko.

A paragraph into the continuation of my read, I was already smiling. Good thing naisip ko magdala ng light read para mabawasan stress ko kay Ivan.

One of the servers came serving us drinks. Ivan grabbed his mug of coffee while I was left with the other drink which is a fragrant tea. Napatitig ako d'on. Nailipat ko naman ang tingin kay Ivan after. Does he know I don't drink coffee?

Nasanay na kasi ako nang bata palang ay tea na ang iniinom sa bahay. And its healthy.

Smiling, I took the tea and drank while continuing what I'm reading.

Later, I found myself laughing at a scene. Napatingin si Ivan sa akin dahil doon.

"You seem to be enjoying that book," he commented.

I sipped on my drink, answering. "Yes, I am."

We went back to what we're both doing, not minding each other again. Nanahimik akong magbasa at siya naman ay tinuloy ang research. I can hear the constant clicking of the mouse he's using but I don't hear him typing something. Hindi ko nalang pinansin dahil baka nagbabasa pa siya ng studies.

Going back to my book, my eyes turned wide and I gasped when the next scene came.
