I sat on the one step before the front door of the house, tying my shoes perfectly. Tumayo ako after at tinignan kung ayos na ang sapatos ko bago ko binitbit ang tumbler ko at nagsimula ng maglakad sa mahabang driveway ng bahay. I turned up the volume of my headphones, feeling the morning air brushing past me. Nang makarating ako sa gate ay binuksan ko 'yun at lumabas.

The roads are perfectly asphalted here and it impresses me since this is the province. I expect the roads here to be cement but I guess that's just my city-stereotype.

I see no other people around here normally. Aside sa mga farmers na nakikita ko kaso from afar. Parang walang nakatira sa mga malalaking bahay na nasa kalagitnaan ng farm.

I'm only on a slow walk 'cause I'm feeling the wind. Laging sariwa ang hangin dito and it's really different from the city. And the view around eases my tiredness.

Continuing on my walk while enjoying the music in my headphones, I noticed a change in the wind around me. I looked around and found a drone hovering over me. The drone stopped just above me, out of my reach. I stared at it until it flew away. Tinignan ko naman kung saan papunta 'yun and it's from the direction I came from. Ignoring it, I decided to run this time and not just walk.

Hindi ko na ulit nakita ang drone during the few laps that I did along the long road. Nang makabalik ako sa bahay ay naabutan ko si Ivan na nasa living room. He's up early again today. One week straight na siyang maagang gumigising.

He's on his laptop, busy on something so dumeretso lang ako sa kitchen, refilling my tumbler.

Drinking, I stood by the archway leading to the living room. "There's a drone following me earlier," kwento ko kay Ivan.

Naangat naman ang tingin niya. From his side, he took something, showing it to me. "This?" It's the drone I saw earlier.

"Oh it's you." I released a long breath of relief. "Akala ko someone is following me."

He smiled, going back to what he's doing. "Don't worry. We're safe here."

Lumapit ako sa kaniya, standing behind him on the couch, looking at the screen of his laptop. "So what do you do with that?"

"Testing. And I'm practicing."

Wala akong naintindihan sa nakikita ko kaya umikot ako at umupo nalang sa couch sa tabi niya. "What for?"

"Nothing in particular. Improvements?"

"Hmm.. Can I see the footage?"

"Here."

Umusad siya at lumapit ng upo sa akin. He showed me the screen of his laptop. Inalis niya d'on sa ginagawa niya earlier, showing me the video he took.

At first, it was footage of the house. The drone is going around the garden in a swift motion, going past trees as if it's an obstacle course. This isn't just normal drone flying. It's like he's racing while catching the most cinematic video of the house.
