Leng Jin Yu's brows furrowed. He understood what Qiu Ling meant and even had to admit that he agreed. From everything he knew about the Son of Heaven, the person was quite conscious of his image. Naturally, he wouldn't want to expose something he'd deem shameful in front of others.

Still, his current worry was mostly about Qiu Ling's condition. He was clearly still affected by what had happened and he didn't think he should be left alone. Faced with these two arguments, he had a tough time deciding what to do.

Thinking about it for a moment longer, he finally sighed. Qiu Ling definitely wouldn't let him come along if that threatened his chance to see Jing He. Even if he argued, it wouldn't change anything. So, he could at most work around this. "Alright. Since you believe it'll be an issue, I won't go into the High Heavens with you. I want to accompany you to the foot of the Tian Shan though. That shouldn't be a problem, right?"

Qiu Ling thought for a moment and then hummed. Surely, that wouldn't be where Jing He was, right? Well, he would have felt better if he could ask Xiang Yu a little more about the fallen gods and the High Heavens but this much would have to do. "Let's go then."

Leng Jin Yu nodded and turned to the transmission, giving his husband a reassuring look. "We'll go there together and I'll wait at the foot of the mountain until he comes down again. Don't worry. We'll all be back soon."

Jinde nodded with a solemn expression and already wanted to cut the connection when Xin Lan next to him cleared his throat. Jinde raised his brows, wondering if there was something else.

Xin Lan usually might not care but with everything else going on, he couldn't help but step forward and give a reminder. "Tian isn't one to do charity. If you go to the High Heavens, it's likely to anger him and if you want his help, he might ask for something in return. So be careful if you see him."

"Thank you." Leng Jin Yu inclined his head, indeed grateful that Xin Lan was willing to say a few more words. He had experience with this, after all. Maybe his advice would allow Qiu Ling to solve this issue successfully.

The connection was finally cut and Leng Jin Yu turned to Qiu Ling, only to find his expression to be somewhat odd. "What's the matter?"

Qiu Ling pursed his lips but then shook his head, simply turned around, and rushed off in the direction of the Heaven Mountain. Inwardly, he couldn't help but think about what Xin Lan had said though: Tian isn't one to do charity. That ... didn't seem to be the case from his experience?

Come to think of it, Tian had warned Jing He of something during his trial. Unfortunately, his beloved hadn't been able to remember yet when they last saw each other so he didn't know what that warning had been about. Then later, Tian helped him to regain his sanity after Jing Yi's death.

It seemed like he hadn't asked for anything in return in both cases so what was this if not doing charity? Most likely, Tian simply didn't like Xin Lan. Considering how that guy usually behaved, that certainly wasn't surprising. Compared to him, Jing He was definitely someone who would inspire others to be nice instead.

Soon, the two of them arrived at the foot of the Tian Shan. Qiu Ling turned to look at Leng Jin Yu, clearly asking him to stay back from here on.

Leng Jin Yu nodded in response. "I'll wait here for you. If it's convenient later, open a transmission so I'll know that you're safe and whether you've found him. If you want me to come up after all and help, I'll also be there."

Qiu Ling gave a hum even though he didn't intend to ask for further help. This matter had to be done by him alone. Thinking for a moment, he looked up at the mountain. The top of it vanished between the clouds. He couldn't really remember the last time he had rushed up there but the path shouldn't be easy to take. This alone might take a lot of time, not to mention that he still had to find Jing He afterward.

Thinking for a while, he turned back to Leng Jin Yu. "You should return to the capital city. This might take days and it makes no sense for you to stand here all that time just on the off-chance I'll need you. Anyway, in the worst case, you can be here soon enough."

Leng Jin Yu hesitated but finally nodded. "I'll wait for a while. If you haven't contacted me in a few hours, I'll go back."

Qiu Ling really didn't think it was necessary but seeing how serious Leng Jin Yu looked, he also didn't want to waste any time discussing this. Thus, in the end, he simply nodded, turned around, and made his way up the Heaven Mountain.

He kept his gaze ahead, always facing the direction of the mountain's top. He had been there once and he knew that he could reach that place once again. When he did ... what would he face? Would his beloved be close by or would he have to look for him for a long time? If not Jing He, then would he see Tian or Xiang Yu?

He could certainly use a little help. Even if Jing He didn't want to be seen, just getting a hint or two to allow them to reunite a moment earlier would also be good. But even without that, he was willing to put in the time and effort. When it concerned his beloved, then no task was too hard to do. As long as he could find him and make sure that Jing He would be well, he would try everything he could.
