--------------------------

While everything had been prepared in the palace of the Heavenly Emperor, Xin Lan was also finishing matters with Xiang Yu's body in the mortal realm.

Hua Lin Rong had just returned from outside with a jade coffin. It wasn't anything fancy, just enough to keep a body in it for a certain amount of time. He put it down next to the cultivation platform where the body was placed and looked at Xiang Yu, feeling a little strange.

This was Xiao Yu's original incarnation. Seeing him, he couldn't help but think of his younger brother. And with the way Xiang Yu currently looked, he especially couldn't help thinking of his brother's body. "Say, my brother ..." He finally couldn't finish the words and simply fell quiet.

In fact, he could also imagine what had happened back then. He just wanted to hear it from Xin Lan himself once so he could stop thinking about it. Otherwise, he might never be able to put the thought to rest.

Xin Lan bent down to pick up Xiang Yu's body and carefully placed it inside the coffin. Who knew if it was because he had trouble answering Hua Lin Rong's question or if he couldn't bear to see Xiang Yu like this, but he even took the time to straighten out his sleeves and adjust the hood of the cloak so that even if somebody opened the lid of the coffin, they wouldn't immediately notice anything awry.

Only when he had done so and closed the coffin did he turn to Hua Lin Rong. "I buried him in the dragon realm, next to my own house. I hope you don't mind." At that time, he hadn't thought too much. In his subconscious, he felt that since they had gotten back together, Hua Lin Yu should be considered his fiance again. Why wouldn't he bury his fiance at his own place and instead bring him to a whole different realm? It just didn't seem right. Whether Hua Lin Yu's family had had some issues with that ... he had never considered that.

Hua Lin Rong nodded slowly. "I see." This was exactly what he had expected.

Xin Lan didn't seem to be the kind of man who would easily let go of someone after forming a relationship. He might not look like it at first glance but he actually had a deeply emotional side to him. This was something he had realized when Xiao Yu pulled back again and again but Xin Lan still continued to love him and wait for him.

So even though his brother had already been dead back then, he probably hadn't even thought of giving this body away. Even returning it to his family wouldn't have crossed his mind. To him, he was the one Xiao Yu should stay with, whether that was in life or in death. It made sense when looking at it that way.

He sighed and gently brushed the lid. "I hope you find his new reincarnation. If you do ..." He hesitated what to say. He would have liked to know. To be honest, when it came to his younger brother, he felt awful. At that time, they hadn't actually been together often. After all, they had handed him over to Sect Master Fei. While it had been for his own protection, it still meant that Xiao Yu hadn't grown up at their side.

In this regard, there were many regrets and if he could make up for this in another life, he would do it in a heartbeat. It was just ... this was his own wish and it might be a selfish one. His life as Hua Lin Yu was already in the past. As Xiang Yu, he could at least remember it, but who knew just who he was right now?

In this life, they might never meet organically. Xin Lan and Xiang Yu clearly had a special connection even though he didn't dare to ask about it. So, if Xin Lan went to find him, it wasn't anything odd. But could the same be said about him? If Hua Lin Rong was honest with himself, then no, that wasn't the case.

If he truly asked Xin Lan to tell him after he found Xiang Yu's latest reincarnation, he would be intruding on this life. He might put Xiang Yu's wishes for this trial in jeopardy by doing so and that was something he couldn't allow himself to do. No, he had to keep out of this. It was for the best.

He took a deep breath and then slowly exhaled. "Well, if you truly find him, then protect him well and let him live a good life."

Xin Lan could imagine what was going through Hua Lin Rong's mind. He lowered his gaze, reaching out to touch the smooth surface of the coffin's lid as well. "I contacted somebody from the dragon realm while you were out and they gave me an idea how I might be able to find him. It won't be easy but at least I know where to start now. When he appears ... I will tell you. You can decide by then what to do with this information."

Hua Lin Rong shook his head. "If you do, I won't be able to stay away. I ... I miss him, you know? If I could, I'd follow you right away to search for clues."

Xin Lan hummed. "I know. Well, I'll see about it. For now, I'll leave his immortal body with you. I still need to check something so I'd better leave right away."

Hua Lin Rong nodded and watched as Xin Lan turned around. He didn't say more and simply waited until the door closed behind him. Looking at the coffin, he sighed faintly. "Well, I hope this trial gives you what you long for."
