As winter break went on Uraraka was trying to keep busy at home as well as help out at the construction site as much as she could despite her parents telling her to relax some and enjoy the time she was out of school.

But she actually found it quite helpful since she was able to help out and do something productive and keep her mind busy while she was at it.

Whenever she could, she also made sure to hang out with some of her friends, but that of course didn't change the fact that by the end of that day she was left with nothing but the heavy pain in her chest.

"So Uraraka what's up? Isn't it your birthday today?" Kirishima playfully nudged her while he was sitting next to her eating his lunch during his break.

Letting out a deep sigh she shrugged. "Yeah, but I rather be here helping out anyways, plus my parents are here working right now too so that way, I still get to see them." She happily smiled swinging her legs back and forth.

"Understandable." He nodded before giving her a big hug. "Happy Birthday by the way!"

Giggling, she hugged him back. "Thanks Kirishima. So, how's your winter break other than working here?"

"Not too bad." He said taking another bite of his sandwich before swallowing. "I've been hanging with Mina and Kaminari from time to time but to tell you the truth...it feels a little weird."

"Oh? How so?" she said blinking up at him.

"Well, it's too quiet for one." He chuckled, making her laugh too. "And I don't have someone constantly threatening me so there's that."

Nodding her head, she continued to smile.

"I don't know, I guess I've gotten used to some things you know?" he said giving her a sideways look.

"Yeah..." Letting her gaze drop down to her hands she stayed quiet for some time letting him eat.

"Uraraka."

"Hmm?"

"Lay it on me. What's up?" he said, taking another bite.

"Oh, it's nothing." She forced a small smile. "But...have you heard from them?"

"No." Shaking his head he gave her a sullen look. "From what I've heard, no one has. Looks like they're keeping busy over there getting ready for the trip and all."

"Right."

"How you been holding up?" he said, giving her a knowing look.

"Fine I guess...not much I can really do about it." She chuckled to herself. "It's not like I didn't see this coming."

"True. But doesn't mean you're not allowed to feel this way."

Looking up she gave him a gentle smile. "Yeah, but now I understand why he was so hesitant about this to begin with."

Pressing his lips together watched her for a moment. "You know what?" Lifting his chin up he finished the last of his lunch before putting it away with a determined look. "It's your birthday and both of us are here whining about our friend who's probably getting his butt handed to him right by Endeavor. So, once I'm done here let's go out and celebrate. I'll contact some of the others too."

Smiling, she nodded. "Ok sounds like fun."

"But hey!" he said stopping her as she got up grinning. "Don't tell him what I said about the Endeavor part."

"Ochaco sweety can you make sure we have enough plates on the table?" Mrs. Uraraka said over her shoulder since she was checking on the food.
