the cursed morning arrived and with it came the rude awakening of sunlight shining through the window into my eyes. i tried to be grumpy as i shielded my eyes from the rays but could not remain that way for long as i realized it was the first day of many that the sun was shining over Hogwarts. the shadowy haze over the school had grown depressing the longer it sheltered us from the blissful sun rays.

i uncovered my eyes and smiled as i sat up getting my face out of the sunlight. i squinted at a bedside clock from across the room and it read six-thirty. i felt more alive than i ever have. i felt like i could race a hippogriff on a broom and win that's how much energy i had. sleep truly works wonders on the weary.

i looked around and saw that i was not the only one in the room that was awakening to the sunlight shining through the room. Lee was rubbing the bogies out of his eyes while George was leaning half way out of his bed as he filled up a glass with water from the cooler. When i turned to Fred i almost jumped as he was sitting upright staring at me as if i were a very scary ghost.

"Fred?" i asked.

"are you alright, mate?" Lee questioned.

"uhh... yeah. i just- had a dream." he replied still staring at me though he now had a perplexed expression on his face.

"what was it about?" Lee inquired.

"My Girlfriend." he said in a daze.

"Mate, hate to break it to ya but you don't have a girlfriend." George said.

"i-i mean i had a girlfriend in the dream. i was dreaming that i had a girlfriend." he corrected himself.

"i think we all know who he was dreaming about." George said teasingly only to get a pillow to the face spilling his cup of water everywhere.

as we were laughing i looked around and my eyes fell on a Hogwarts crest displayed on a small banner hung on the wall. i stared at it before it began feeling like the mascots of each house were moving. i looked at each one before landing my eyes on the snake for Slytherin.

my eyes widened and i clambered out of bed stubbing my toe as i attempted to throw the door open. i had run it right into my pinky toe and stumbled slightly before hurrying down the stairs to the other's utter confusion. i heard shuffling above me but i paid no mind as i shoved the portrait open racing down the hall to the portrait tower where i raced up those many flights of stairs till i reached the headmasters hall.

as i threw the door open and turned a corner i saw something i did not expect to see so early and yet it was entirely expected. The headmaster's stairs were open and the griffin door was drawn up. A figure was marching down the steps and i recognized that it was Harry once most of him came into view.

"Where's Ron? he went down with you didn't he? are you alright?" i asked quickly as i raced down the hall to him.

"Ron's in the hospital wing i think. he's with Lockhart getting him sorted out." Harry replied as he hugged me tightly.

"what happened to Lockhart?" i questioned.

"he used Ron's broken wand to try and cast a memory charm on us and it backfired. he cant even remember what he looks like." He said with a laugh and i joined in as i squeezed him tightly in my arms thankful that he was still alive.

"as long as you and Ron are alright. What about Ginny. is she okay?" i asked suddenly becoming worried again.

"she's fine." he said.

"oh, thank Godric!" i said shaking him lightly as relief flooded my body.

i let Harry go as i saw out of the corner of my eye a familiar figure come bounding down the hall with a grimace on his face. my uncle had been summoned to the headmasters office and as he strutted down the hall his house elf followed behind lightly pounding its own head into its fists.
