Chapter Fifty-two - The World Cup

"wake up!" Ginny screamed in my face and our heads collided as i shot up.

"merlin's beard!" i shouted as my head began to throb.

"its time to go." Ginny said and i climbed out of bed and changed into the clothes i had set out the night before.

Mrs. Weasley had packed meals for us to eat on the way to the portkey and Mr. Weasley had food for us to make for breakfast once we were at the camp ground. i took my sandwich and met the twins by the door. they looked wide awake as usual and had already dug into their food. i rested my head on Fred's shoulder and he pat my head a few times before resting his arm around me comfortably.

once Harry and Ron made it down the stairs we left for the long trek to the portkey. we couldn't apparated yet so we had to go the long way unfortunately. that meant we had to wake up at the crack of dawn to get their in time since the key was like an hours walk away. if we still had the car it would have taken us like maybe ten minutes on wheels but we obviously no longer had the luxury of a flying car.

when we reached the location Cedric and Amos Diggory were already there and i gave Cedric an awkward hug which he initiated. Fred looked annoyed until i made an uncomfortable face and his expression relaxed as he took me by the wrist and led me to the old boot that was the portkey. 

"everyone grab on!" Amos said and we all gripped on tightly as the world began spinning and the ground disappeared beneath us. Fred's free hand found its way around my waist.

we began spinning faster and faster until i began loosing my grip and i held tightly to Fred. Fred let go of the boot as well and wrapped both his arms around me tightly as we spun through the air hitting the ground and rolling a good distance before we came to a stop. when i opened my eyes Fred was hovering over me with a pink tinge on his face that made my face go pink as well.

"sorry," he said getting to his feet holding out a hand for me. i took it and he pulled me to my feet as we both began awkwardly laughing. 

i glanced over at Cedric and he had a jealous look on his face before he changed his expression and looked away from us. i shook off the awkward tension as i dusted myself off and the twins and i hurried to catch up with the rest of them who were making their way into the campground.

"Chloe, Hermione, and Ginny will be staying in the small girls tent and the rest of us will be in the big one." Mr. Weasley said and the twins began pouting. it was their biggest dream to be allowed to have a sleepover that was not at Hogwarts but i don't think that will happen any time soon seeing as no one trusts them.

i began laughing at them and they shot me a dirty look that only made me laugh at them more as we entered the larger of the two tents which had been magically enlarged so that there were multiple rooms and levels inside of it. the twins went to one of the boys rooms that had three bunkbeds in it. there were too sleeping rooms, one had a queen sized bed and a twin and the other had the three bunks. Fred and George claimed the top and bottom bunk of one of the double decker beds and the other two would go to Harry, Ron, Bill and Charlie. no one was willing to deal with Percy so he was demoted to the twin bed in Mr. Weasleys room.

as for the girls tent, there were three beds evenly spaced along the far wall of the tent. there was no other accessories in the tent and, while it was magically enlarged, it was not enhanced much. i took the furthest bed to the right and Ginny tossed her belongings on the middle bed which meant Hermione would have the bed on the far left. 

we went back outside to find Mr. Weasley making an attempt to start a fire and Hermione jumped at the chance to help him while i went into the big tent and found where the twins had left their things. Fred was occupying the bottom bunk of the beds they had chosen and i shoved his bag to the corner of the bed and flopped onto the musty sheets. i was exhausted and quickly fell asleep but not before i was gently awoken by Fred.
