O.W.L. season had arrived. i don't really know how I'm still alive right now. I already took my exams for the N.E.W.T.'s because McGonagall let me take them in secret in her office. Umbridge wouldn't let me take them with everyone else because she was worried i would make magical fart noises with my wand or something. those were here words, not mine, though, it was a great idea.
the part that surprised me about my still beating heart was what me and the twins had been doing. it was no secret anymore that we were making joke products and selling them at this point.
"Chloe!" Fred shouted from across the common room at me as he rushed through the door.
"Hi!" i exclaimed as i ran up to him. he opened his arms and i hugged him quickly before i pulled away and looked at him with a questioning expression.
"okay, Umbridge is monitoring the testing 'cause she's annoying so we need you to stand at the door."
"why?" i questioned.
"we want to see if we can make sales but also we want to make sure Ron and Harry are going to be alright."
"i think they will be fine but I'll do it."
"great!" he said giving me a quick peck on the lips before rushing past me heading for the dorms.
I raced down the halls until i reached the entrance to the great hall and i stood casually in front of the opened door. i had a bunch of joke stuff in my bag and as the kids walked into the great hall they saw me and smiled. i didn't have to say one word to all these fifth years for them to know i was here to support them and believed in them.
as i was standing in the doorway Professor Flitwick came up to me and tapped me on the knee to get my attention.
"you should have been in class three minutes ago." he said.
"but i have Umbridge right now." i whined.
"well you went to her class yesterday-"
"that's cause she was monitoring an N.E.W.T." i snapped back.
"her being there is not an excuse to skip. i know what your doing. I am going to escort you there myself." he said beginning to walk in the opposite direction of the great hall. i had no choice but to follow.
when i arrived at the class Flitwick watched me enter the classroom and sit down at my assigned desk without any of my school things. i wasn't even in full uniform. he left after that and when the door closed professor Umbridge stood up and looked at me with her toad-like stare.
"why are you late?" she questioned.
"i don't remember when this happened but you told me the clock tower didn't dismiss me, you did. if it doesn't dismiss me, it doesn't decide when i show up either." i said spitefully.
"get out of my classroom." she said as her wrinkles became more prominent with her growing frustration.
"why? i was five minutes late. i don't even know why I'm arguing with you right now, I'll gladly rid you of my presence." i said as i stood up walking towards the door. when i reached for the handle i paused. "hold on, you weren't even in class yesterday!" i argued.
"i know, and that's not important."
"yeah it is! it's way more important for you to be here than us!"
"my substitute gave you an assignment yesterday. you may place it on my desk before you leave." she said trying to remain calm.
"already did it. it's on your desk. i even drew little hearts with kissing toads in the middle to remind you of Fudge."
