Seulgi's POV

"Where have you been? Why did you just come now? I've been waiting for you earlier—"

"What happened to your face?" she asked in surprise. She approached me and touched my wounded face.

I immediately moved back when it stung. "Ouch."

She looked at me with concern. "What happened, hon? I asked you to buy ice cream, not bruises."

I showed her the plastic bag I bought. "I did. Here, I hope you like the flavor," I replied.

She took what I bought and placed it on the table. "Sit," she ordered.

I obeyed and sat on our bed. I sighed. Irene shouldn't see Bogum anymore. The island is big enough, so hopefully, they won't cross paths.

I jumped when I felt a stinging sensation on my face. "H-Hyun, be gentle. It hurts," I said with a pained smile.

"Stop moving around! It needs to be cleaned. What happened to you?" Her voice carried a mix of irritation and concern.

"I just tripped, Hyun. I was in a hurry to come back here," I replied.

She pinched my waist. "Do you think I'm stupid enough to believe that?" she said with a furrowed brow. She sat on my lap and held my face.

"Stay still, Seulgi! Endure the pain." I could do nothing but endure the sting. It's fine, though, because my spouse is taking care of my wound.

I looked at her closely. She was fully focused with a furrowed brow, but even like that, she's still beautiful. I smiled. My spouse is truly beautiful.

"Stop smiling! I'm cleaning your wound," she said.

"Okay, hon." I fell silent and looked at her. What will happen if you find out that Bogum was responsible for this, Hyun? Will you go back to his arms? Will I never see you again?

Should I make the most of the time I have left with you? I held her waist and pulled her closer to me. "Seulgi—"

She was about to scold me when I cut her off. "I need your hug, Hyun." I softly said as I hugged her.

She stopped what she was doing and hugged me back. "What's wrong?" she gently asked as she caressed my back.

"Hyun, what if you find out that the person you love the most is hiding something from you? What will you do?"

She stopped rubbing my back. "What do you mean?"

Minutes passed without her speaking, causing my heart to pound with anxiety. "Forget it—"

"It depends on the reason, hon. If he only hid it for a good reason, then I won't do anything. But if he hid it out of selfishness or something, then he's stupid."

"You know I hate liars. You've known me long enough. Why did you ask?" I gulped. That's true, she really hates liars. My heart is beating fast. Based on her answer, there's a high possibility that she'll be angry with me.

"Nothing. It's just that one of my friends is in a similar situation. She's hesitant to tell the truth because she's afraid it might change how the other person sees her or ruin their improving relationship."

"Let's not talk about that anymore. Do you want to go for a swim in the sea, Hyun? Come on?" I changed the topic. I hope she won't suspect that I'm referring to us.

"Okay, let me change clothes first," she replied. She finished cleaning my wound before leaving my embrace.
