"BWAH?!"

Ace, Deuce, Vanitas, and Grim all yelped in unison when Lilia Vanrouge suddenly materialized between the two sides of the table. Ace nearly choked on his burger, while Deuce spluttered water across the table.

Y/n, however, didn't flinch. She merely stared at Lilia with her usual blank, ethereal calm, sipping her iced tea as if students didn't just randomly blink into existence beside her.

Isfrid, arms crossed and jaw tight, looked decidedly unimpressed, the air around him beginning to chill ever so slightly.

"Oh. Hey, Lilia~!" Cater greeted with an awkward but bright smile, nervously waving while inching away from the spreading frost.

"That guy just teleported!" Grim exclaimed.

"I understand my apparent age interests you? Kufufu," Lilia chuckled with that trademark mischief. "I may look relatively sweet and handsome...Aaaaah," He opened his mouth mid-sentence—and swiped a piece of chicken straight from Cater's plate. "However, as this bespectacled fellow accurately noted...Despite my fresh-faced, boyish good looks, it would be inaccurate to call me a child especially since I'm taller than our beloved princess here," he grinned.

"'Fresh-faced,' he says..." Trey nervously sweat dropped.

At the word princess, Vanitas's head slowly turned from his tea to Lilia, a slow, chilling smile curling across his lips. "'Beloved princess, hmm?" he echoed sweetly. Too sweetly. "That's quite the affectionate nickname, mon petit vampire. I do hope you're not in the habit of touching what isn't yours."

A flicker of crimson danced in his eyes as he shifted, gaze never leaving Lilia's face. Y/n didn't even blink.

"Vanitas..." Isfrid growled lowly, not even trying to conceal the frost building on his fingertips. "I tolerate you sitting this close to her. Barely. Do not give me a reason to rethink that."

Lilia, of course, only seemed amused by the sudden rise in tension. He tilted his head, a smirk playing on his lips. "Oho? No need for such icy hostility. I'm merely stating the truth. And..." he leaned back, smiling wickedly, "our little beasty belongs to Malleus, does she not? You do remember who your housewarden is, don't you?"
