The next morning, I decided to go out for just a quick second, and I saw that a tree had fallen on the walkers. That's how we lived. A tree falling on the herd.

It was a gnarly sight, so I went back inside so I could lay with Daryl. Just lay with him. That's all I need.

We were laying together for a while, and soon everyone else was awake and getting ready to leave. I was sharpening my knife, Daryl readying his bow, before Maggie and Sasha came back, another man with them.

"Hey.. Everyone." Maggie said, opening the door as the other man and Sasha followed. "This is Aaron."

We all went tense.

Daryl ran forward to make sure no one else was out there, and I held my gun up towards him.

"We met him outside. He's by himself." Maggie told us while Daryl went and patted him down for any weapons. "We took his weapons and we took his gear."

Daryl then shut the door and locked it, and we all stood around Aaron, ready to fire if he made a wrong move.

"Hi." Aaron said, his hands up as he looked around at us all. Judith started to cry loudly once he spoke, and Carl had to take her.

Aaron started to walk to Rick, "it's nice to meet you-" he stopped once he heard all of us aiming our guns at him.

"You said he had a weapon?" Rick asked.

Maggie came and handed Rick the gun.

Rick pocketed it, before looking at Aaron. "There something you need?" He asked him.

"He has a camp nearby." Sasha told us. "He wants us to audition for membership."

"Audition? The hell you think this is, some sort of TV show?" I scoff as I look at him.

"I wish there was another word." He sighed. "Audition makes it sound like were some kind of dance troupe... That's only on Friday nights." He said, his futile attempt at a joke not phasing anyone.

He shook his head, seemingly disappointed with himself. "Uh.. And it's not - it's not a camp. It's a community. I think you all would make valuable additions. But.. I-its not my call."

"So who the hell are you, the messenger boy?" I ask, confused why they would send someone who can't make that call.

"My job is to convince you all to follow me back home." He explained to me. He looked at all of us, who were obviously not super interested. "I know.. If I were you, I wouldn't go either. Not until I knew exactly what I was getting into."

"Then tell us." I say, watching him.

He watched me for a moment, before looking at Sasha. "Sasha, can you hand Rick my pack?" He asked politely.

She took a moment, before bringing it to my brother, I stood by him so we could both see.

"Front pocket, there's an envelope." Aaron told us, as the two of us knelt on the ground to open the bag. "There's no way I could convince you to come with me, just by talking about our community. That's why I brought those." He explained, as Rick pulled out the envelope. "I apologize in advance for the picture quality. We just could an old camera store la-"

"Nobody gives a shit." Daryl said from behind him.

"Your.. Absolutely 100% right." Aaron nodded. Then he looked back to me and Rick, I was holding the stack of pictures in my hand.

"That's the first picture I wanted to show you." Aaron commented as he looked at my hands. It was a picture of a wall, that looked fairly sturdy. "Because nothing I say about our community will matter unless you know you'll be safe. If you join us, you will be."
