In the morning, everyone started to pile out of the house to explore the neighborhood.
Me and Daryl sat on the porch together, and Rick looked between us. "They said explore. Let's explore."
"Nah, I'll stay here." Daryl sighed.
"All right.." Rick nodded, then looked at me, "you, on the other hand, your coming."
I stood with a grunt, "yeah, figured I didn't have a choice."
As I got ready to follow him, Rick sighed, glancing down at Daryl. "Lori and me, we used to drive through neighborhoods like this. Thinking, 'one day...'"
"Well, here we are." Daryl said as he looked up at me and my brother.
I sigh, "home sweet home."
Rick glances between us, before nodding for me to follow. "We'll be back." He says to Daryl.
As Rick and I walked, he sighed, "we haven't had much time to talk."
"We haven't had much time to do much of anything but fight for a while." I agreed.
"When you and Daryl first got together, back at the farm, I was skeptical. But now I'm glad it was him." Rick said, looking down at me. "He's a good guy, one of the few good guys we've got."
I nodded in agreement, "he is a good guy." I looked down, "what's your thoughts on being an uncle?"
He cleared his throat, "I was about to ask you how you were holding up, with the baby and all." He nodded, "I'm here, I'll help you, y/n."
"I'm just worried, you know.."
"I know." He nodded. "As bad as it sounds to say it, I understand why your scared." He looked down at me, "I don't believe your gonna end up like Lori."
"I miss her, sometimes." I say gently. "She was a good person, she may have been, ridiculous at times, but she was a good person."
"Yeah. That she was." Rick nodded.
"We lost a lot of good people, I think of them often. Is that, bad? That I think of them a lot?"
"No, no that's a good thing." He said, holding my shoulder gently.
As we walked allong the road, we saw children, laughing gently. Then he snapped into Dad mode. "Hey i-i gotta find Carl and Judith. You uh, you keep exploring." He said, before sprinting down the road.
I looked around, before just wondering. It was just houses and houses and houses, so many. I was walking for a while, before I was stopped by an older couple.
"I'm Natalie, this is Bob," the older woman said as she pointed to her husband, the two of them on their porch chairs.
"Y/n, pleased to meet you." I smiled, holding my hand out to shake, a small part of me hurt when hearing the name Bob, it was a very common name though so, I'm sure he won't be the last Bob I meet.
"We heard there was a pregnant woman in your group, is that you?" Bob asked me as he watched from where he sat.
I nodded, "yes, yes it is. Word passes fast around here?"
"Oh! Yes, dear. Barely anything happens without at least 2 other houses knowing, too." Natalie laughed.
"So who's the father? He with ya?" Bob asked.
"Oh he's keeping watch over our house right now." I nodded to them.
"He treat you well?" Natalie asked.
"Very much, yes." I nodded.
"Well that's good, we don't want another house with violence." Bob nodded, and Natalie hummed in agreement.
