As I walk into the house I see Carl sitting with Judith.

"Aunt Y/N- is dad-"

"He's fine." I nod, sitting by him. "There's a meeting tonight. Their gonna talk about kicking Rick out. I wanted you to hear it from me."

"So.. So I can come and defend him?"

"No, so you can stay here with ass-kicker and man the house. no one else is gonna be here and if someone comes in to take Rick's stuff I want you here to make sure no one comes in."

"Right.. Got it." He nodded. "So babysitter duty?"

"Yes your on babysitter duty."

He groaned in protest, and I took Judith from his arms. "Listen I don't know what will happen tonight. It could be good... It could be bad. And if things go South I don't want you seeing it. I need you here to keep Judith safe. This.. This is our home now. I'll do everything I can to make sure it stays that way, but I need you to listen. Ok?"

He watched me as I spoke, before nodding slowly. "Yes.. Ok I understand." He mumbled.

"Good. Now, I am-"

I was cut short as Rick opened the door, and Carl stood quickly.

"Dad." He sighed with relief as he went up to hug Rick. "You ok?"

Rock nodded at his son, and turned his eyes to me for a second. "Yeah.." He sighed as he looked back at Carl. "Look I'm sorry."

"Y/N told me about the meeting." Carl said slowly as he walked through the house with his father.

Rick turned to me and gave a look, and I shrugged. "Who would you have rather he heard it from? Me, or someone else as he's walking down the street?"

Rick sighed, "fair.. But, Carl, your staying home."

"That what it is now.. Right?" Carl asked as he watched his father. Rick stopped in his tracks. "Home?"

Rick turned to Carl, looking him over. "Yeah."

"They need us." Carl said as he looked between me and Rick. "They'll die without us."

"They'll die if they keep walking around with their eyes closed, with or without us." I replied as I stood, cradling Judith in my arms as I walked besides Carl. Rick watched me for a moment, and I instantly knew what he was about to say. I nodded at him, and he took a deep breath.

"I might have to threaten one of them." Rick said as he walked to me and Carl. "I could have to kill one of them."

"You wont." Carl shook his head.

"I might." Rick replied.

"You have to tell them." Carl said softly.

"That's how we start. By telling them." I said as I rocked Judith. "And if that doesn't work.."

"Your with him?" Carl turned to look at me.

"I said I'd do everything if it meant this place stayed home for us. I meant it." I nodded.

Carl looked back at Rick. "Dad.. You.. You have to tell them."

Rick sighed. "I told them last night."

"You have to tell them so they can hear you." Carl said coldly.

"I don't know if they can." Rick whispered. "Does that make you afraid?"

Carl sighed and shook his head. "Just for them." He took a deep breath. "You have to tell them."

Me and Rick looked at each other, and sighed.
