Chapter 22 Heading To Death Mountain

READER'S POV

It was morning and I made uncle Bill and Link some breakfast. Uncle Bill said,"Thanks for this my wee darling" I smiled and said,"Thanks Uncle Bill"

"You definitely have inherited your mother's cooking skills" uncle Bill said. I smirked and said,"Mum always made the best breakfast" Uncle Bill sweat dropped and said,"Except she makes the meatballs a little too spicy, they used make your mooth go on fire"

Link laughed a little. I then said,"Well it doesn't matter anyway, Link and I going to death Mountain and I'm a little worried about the Gorons" Uncle Bill then said,"Aye, they don't take you assassins very well, they don't even trust you"

I said,"Thanks Uncle Bill you don't really need to rub it in and anyway my father once told me about this" Uncle Bill then said,"Well just make sure that you don't get tackled by one of them, here take these." Uncle Bill went into the back of the shop and brought some iron boots for me.

"I made these for Bo when he first came here I told him to take the extra boots just in case but he told me no so I think you might need these more that I do"Uncle said. I smiled and said,"Thanks Uncle bill and Link" Link then said,"Yes"

I glared at him and said,"Don't even think about leaving me to wrestle one of them Gorons that's your job" Link shouted,"What!?" Uncle Bill laughed and said,"(Laughs) she has point there Lad" I then said,"Oh yeah Link, I think you might have to change your shield"

Link looked at me confused and said,"Why? what's wrong with it" Uncle Bill said,"She's right lad that shield is made out of cheap materials and if you use that once against an enemy that uses fire there's a chance that it might burn, I think I might have something in the back wait here."

Uncle Bill went into the workshop and then he got something that was wrapped in a bag. I asked him,"What is it Uncle Bill?" Uncle Bill then said,"open it and you'll see" Link and I opened the bag and it revealed a shield, it had a phoenix symbol and it had the triforce on top.

"Bill, what kind of shield is this?" Link asked him. He said,"It's called the Hylian shield, it's made oot of metal and it will never burn, I was planning on giving this to the royal family as a gift but it looks like you might need this more than they do". Link then said,"Thanks Bill"

After we finished breakfast, Link and I head up to Death Mountain but when we got to the cliff Link grabbed my shoulder and said,"Be careful there's a goron up there, this is far as I got last time stay close" I then said,"Don't worry I'll be fine, it's the gorons that we need to worry about" After I said that I put my hood up and then we began to climb up the cliff.

LINK'S POV

We climbed to the top I then noticed a goron and then he saw us and shouted,"Ho! You are back again, human? and this time you have brought an assassin with you! You two will never pass! you two cannot hope to match our brute force!" The goron then curled into a ball and then it began to roll straight towards us.

"(Y/N) get behind me!" I said. She did what I asked and then I quickly put the iron boots on and then I caught him in time and then I threw him off the ledge. I took off the iron boots and (Y/N) said,"Whoa now that's what I call throw nice one Link"

I smirked and said,"Thanks (Y/N) you should try it some time" She then said,"thanks but no thanks I'll pass"

"I thought so" I said. We continued on the path to death mountain but we did ran into some more of the gorons but I managed to stop them from tackling me and (Y/N).

MEANWHILE...

SHADOW'S POV

I was in the village and I noticed that both (Y/N) and Link are gone they must've left for the Mountain already. I went up the path and then I saw a goron laying on the ground and then he saw me and said,"Another Human?! You shall not pass!" he charged at me but luckily I teleported to the cliff and then followed the path to death Mountain.

READER'S POV

I stopped in my tacks and said,"Uh Link, did you hear another goron shouting at us just now?" Link then said,"I didn't hear anything, it must be your imagination"

We managed to reach the mountain but when I looked up two gorons saw us and then one of them curled into a ball and then the other one got on top of it's friend and when the goron popped back into it's normal form the other on got on top of the cliff and then it rolled into a cave. 

I smirked and said,"Hey this gives me an idea" Link then said,"what are you thinking (Y/N)" I was just about to tell Link my little idea but then we head rumbling noises and when we looked up some kind of fire rocks came crashing down so Link and I had to get out of the way really quickly but suddenly a large once came crashing down luckily we got out of the road in time before it landed on us.

Midna came out Link's shadow and said,"Whoa... This look dangerous... Is this the traditional Death Mountain welcome? Eee hee!" She went back into Link's shadow and I said,"I hardly doubt this is a traditional welcome, it's just mother nature well at least that's what dad told me when the assassins first visited this place"

Link looked at me and said,"Did anybody ever tell you that you're a bit of a daddy's girl?" I blushed and said,"Only when I was 7 years old, but what can I say? I used to be attached to my father, he was like a best friend to me" Link smiled and said,"you were so lucky to have someone like him" I said,"and don't forget my big brother I'm sure he's still out there somewhere"

LINK'S POV

After what (Y/N) said to me, I somehow felt a little jealous of her I mean I'm the only child in the family and I wished I had a brother but still at least I have (Y/N) by my side she's like a sister to me and that's what I really like the most about her.

After we finished talking (Y/N) told me about her little plan so we went towards on of the gorons and I used the shield bash on him and I struck him with my sword and then he got on top of him and then he popped back into his original form and we were at the top of the cliff.

I then said,"Smart thinking,(Y/N)" She said,"thank you, Link we should keep trying to use this plan against the other gorons so we can get to the top of the mountain." And that's exactly what did.

TIME SKIP...

After climbing up the mountain we managed to reach the cave but before we entered I asked (Y/N),"Are you ready?" She looked nervous and said,"I'm scared" she replied. I took her hand and said,"just stay close to me" After I said that we entered the cave cautiously.
