Chapter 49 Looking For The Second Mirror Shard

READER'S POV

Link and I made out of the snowy peak mountains and we then made our way back to Castle town. Once we got back we made our way to Telma's bar to get some dinner. After we had dinner, Zoro came over and said,"Hey guys, do you mind if I sit here?" I looked at him and said,"Yeah sure, go ahead." Zoro sat down and he kept his face covered up. I said,"You know, you don't have to keep hiding your face."

Zoro then said,"You can't be too careful, you've still got a lot to learn about the assassins (Y/n)." I took another sip of my water and Link then said,"Anyway, what are you up to while we're looking for the mirror shards?" Zoro then said,"Mirror shards?" I then said,"It's a long story but I'll get right to it, Link and I got to the Mirror chamber but the mirror of twilight has been broken into shards and now Link and i have to look for these shards, get them back together and then we can get into the twilight realm."

Zoro nodded his head and said,"I see, well good luck with that." I looked at the group that was in the back and Link then said,"I'm glad there's a group around here to help the people of Hyrule." Zoro then said,"Yeah, me too, with their help I was able to get the remaining assassins back into the creed." I smiled at this and said,"Speaking of which, where's Rusl? I thought he would be here as well."

Telma heard our conversation and she said,"If you two are looking for Rusl he's in Hyrule's southern wood right now, checking out the lay of the land, if you two need detailed directions, just take a peek at that map on the table." She said as she pointed at the group where they were having their next meeting about the troubles.

Link and I looked at each other and we both knew where the next mirror shard could be. Link went over to the table to see where Rusl was, I asked Zoro,"Zoro have you ever seen or heard of someone by the name of Gina before?" Zoro thought for a moment and said,"Yes I have, I've met Gina before when I was going after a high bounty in another country she just attacked me out of nowhere and said that she knew about the Creed, it kinda gave me a surprise when she mentioned it because at the time I was also gathering the remaining members of the creed."

I then said,"I see, I wonder how she knows about us and the creed? Do you think she has some kind of connection with the Creed or something?" Zoro then said,"I don't know, but what I do know is that she's dangerous and powerful, a word of advice is to be aware of her powers." I nodded my head at this and then Link came back and said,"I know where Rusl is, we'll find him in the morning."

I nodded my head and said,"I'm off, I'll see you later Zoro." I said as I put my hood back on and then Link and I left the Bar. We got back to my place to spend the night and I said to Link,"Are you sure you don't mind sleeping on the couch?" Link then said,"I don't mind at all, well, see you in the morning." I nodded my head and I headed up the stairs.

After I got changed into my night clothes, I sensed a presence near by. I sighed and said,"I know you are there shadow, come on out." I heard Shadow sigh and he came out of the darkness and said,"How did you know I was here?" I glared at him and said,"I'm not that stupid enough to let my guard down easily." Shadow then said,"I can't argue with you there." I shook my head and said,"Anyway is there a reason on why you came here tonight? Because Link is down stairs sleeping on the couch."

Shadow frowned at this and he said,"I hate it when you are spending more time with that Hero than me, it's not fair." I then said,"How do you think I feel when I'm far away from you? I don't even know where you are most of the time." Shadow's look soften and he came towards me and he then wrapped his arms around me. I buried my face in Shadow's chest and he gently strokes my hair and said,"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to let my emotions get the better of me."

I wrapped my arms around Shadow and I said,"It's fine, please stay with me for tonight I don't feel like sleeping by myself." Shadow smiled at this and he said,"Of course." Shadow said as he picked me up in his arms. After Shadow laid me down on the bed he wrapped his arm around my waist. I buried my face in his chest and I fell asleep in his arms.

SHADOW'S POV

I petted her hair as she fell asleep in my arms. I mumbled,"Why do you have to keep me waiting for so long? Please pick me after this whole mess is over." I said as I held her close to my chest and I fell asleep as well.

THE NEXT DAY...

LINK'S POV

After we had breakfast, (Y/n) and I got on our horses and we headed to Faron woods. Once we got there we made it to the the southern part of the woods we saw a familiar figure standing on the edge looking at the distance. We both smiled at this because we knew that it was Rusl. We walked over to him and he said to me,"It has been a while since we took a walk in the forest, huh? Yes, and how our world has changed..."

We looked around the forest and we remembered the forest was like before this whole mess happened to us. He then said,"Say... Do you two know about the far side of this deep gorge? Some say there is an ancient temple deep in the woods that guards a sacred power. The ancestors of the Hylians created the temple... Signs of their civilisations--ancient, but very sophisticated--are everywhere. If someone could obtain the power of those ancient people... Well, I am sure it would go a long way toward saving Hyrule."

READER'S POV

We both listened to Rusl's story and he then turned to look at us and said,"Link... (Y/n)... Would you two take on this task? Would you two cross the gorge and find the ancient power sleeping in the temple?" We both nodded our heads at him. Rusl smiled and said,"I knew you two would! To cross the gorge, just use my partner here." Rusl whistled his partner and then a golden cucco appeared in front of us.

I was dumbfounded at this and I said,"A cucco?" Rusl looked at us and said,"Don't doubt my partner's skills? He flies like a dream! Believe me! Well, you two will definitely make it across the gorge. Wait and see, my doubting friends." I sighed and said,"No offence Rusl, I do appreciate your partner's help but, I make my own path." Link then said,"What are you talking about?"

I smirked and said,"Watched and learn, grasshopper." Link got mad and he shouted,"Hey! what's with that nickname?!" I laughed at him and I free ran onto the edge of the wall and I landed on the branch of the tree and I leaped onto another ledge and I made it to the other side.

LINK'S POV

Rusl and I stood there dumbfounded at how she was able to get across the gorge so easily. Rusl said,"Wow she's good, (Y/n) certainly has gotten a lot stronger and smarter I'll admit that much." I nodded my head and said,"I have a feeling that she's not going to let this one go for a week." I said as I picked up the cucco and I followed after her before I shouted bye to Rusl.

Once we made to the other side of the gorge (Y/n) and I made it back to the Lost woods and that's where we saw that annoying kid again. He blew his wind trumpet and then his puppets appeared. I frowned and said,"Here we go again." (Y/n) then said,"This is going to be a long and a annoying journey through this forest."
