Chapter 58 Getting To The Sky Temple

LINK'S POV

After (Y/n) and I learned the last skills from the ancient hero and Ryumma we headed back to Kakariko village and we saw Shad again. Shad said,"Ah! Link! (Y/n)! I have discovered something, as it turned out, that word I learned from you two didn't do anything with the statues I found... After all that, I wonder how that was supposed to be used..."

(Y/n) and I looked at each other because we already knew what happened when he used that word, thanks to him we were able to find the owl statues and we found some of the missing letters. I gave Shad the book back to him and he said,"Is this that book from last time?" (Y/n) then said,"It is but, Link and I had a look at those statues and we did found something interesting, go ahead take a look."

Shad looked at the book and he said,"...Hm? Are there more letters in the word the last time I looked at this? How did you two investigate the... Link, (Y/n), this is amazing! Amazing!" (Y/n) smirked and said,"I know right." Shad then turned to the statue again and he said,"Now THIS must be the word we need! Let's try it immediately!"

Shad held up his book again like last time and he starts to mumble the words like last time as well. When he said those words the strange seal that was on the owl statue started glow and when it did the seal disappeared. We stood there in shock at this and Shad said,"Ah! It has taken on the same shape as the other statues..."

Shad then said,"What can this mean? And I thought we had solved the last of the riddles... Blast! How confounding!" He said as he face palmed with disappointment. Shad then said,"...I must apologise, Link, (Y/n). I need to cool off a tad before I mull the problem further..."

Shad then walked away with his head hung low. (Y/n) then said,"Oh boy, I guess he was expecting something big to happen." I then said," You might be right on that one but thanks to him at least we can move this statue out of the road and see what's behind it." I got Dominion Rod out of my pouch and I flung the light towards the statue and I moved it out of the way revealing a hidden passage.

I cancelled out the power in that statue and then we went through the passage. We walked through the passage and then we were in a large hidden room. When we got there we looked around then we saw something in the centre of the room, it was some kind of cannon. (Y/n)'s eyes widen at this and she said,"Holy crap! that's what this place was hiding?!" I then said,"It would seem that way."

READER'S POV

We were standing there for a few seconds until we heard Shad saying,"Link?! (Y/N)?!" We turned around and we saw Shad and he said,"How in the blazes did you two move that statue?! And...what's this..." Shad walked over to it and I said,"Shad, do you know what this thing is?" Shad then said,"Amazing! Spectacular! This must be the Sky Cannon I read about in my father's notes!I knew that my intuition was onto something when it led me here!"

Shad thought for a moment and said,"...But how can one use this to get to the City in the Sky?" I leaned over to Link's ear and whispered,"Link, the city in the sky, I'll bet the mirror shard is hiding somewhere in that city." Link whispered back,"You're right, but if that's the case how are we gonna get there, the sky cannon looks out of commission." I said,"I think I do, remember that guy back at Lake Hylia? maybe he can fix this cannon." Link nods his head and we walked over to it to get a closer look until Midna popped out of Link's shadow and she floated to the top of the Cannon.

She turned to us and said,"A cannon, huh? What do you two plan to do with this, Link, (Y/n)?" I said,"Wrap it to Lake Hylia." Midna looked over at Shad and said,"...Except that guy's still watching us..." Link then said,"Leave it to me." Link walked over to Shad and he spoke to him for a moment and then Shad left. Before he left he said,"...Ah yes! Let me give you one last piece of advice..."

Shad said,"That seems to be broken, so you'd do well to show it to a cannon expert first, I should say! Farewell!" Midna float next to Link and said,"...I wonder if I put him off?" I then said,"Somehow I get the feeling you might be wrong there Midna, anyway, let's get this thing to Lake Hylia." Midna nods her head and she then transformed Link into his wolf form and I placed my hand on the shape shifting stone and I turned into my white wolf form.

Midna pointed at the Cannon and when she did that sparks surrounded it for a moment and it then started to shake. Midna then raised her arms in the air and then the Cannon floated upwards and it turned into tiny black squares. Once it was gone Midna teleported me and Link to Lake Hylia. Once we got back to Lake Hylia we transformed back into our human forms. Link and I headed over to Fado's place and when he saw us he said,"Hey, buddies."

He looked at the Sky cannon and he said,"So... Uh, is that yours?" I said,"You could say that." He chuckled and said,"Heh heh... Hey, buddies, I never thought you two get so hooked on fanastication that you'd try and build your own cannon!" A tick mark appeared on my head and I thought to myself,"Don't make me punch you for that!"

Fado then said,"So...are you two gonna give me the tour of what? looks like you have a serious rig over there..." We showed Fado the cannon and he had a look at it and he said,"Whoa! It's kind of...retro, huh? And there's no ignition device, so you can't even use it." I said,"So what do you think? do you think you could fix it up for us?" Fado turned to us and said,"Listen, Buddies, I suppose I might be able to fix it for you..." Link then said,"Really?"

Fado turned his head slightly and said,"I mean, maybe..." Link then said,"Don't tell me..." Fado then said,"That is, if you can pay me 300 Rupees...in advance. Whaddaya say?" I mumbled,"I'd say a complete con." Link elbowed me on the arm and I shouted,"Ow!" Link then said,"(Y/n) stop complaining, let's just pay the guy already." Link went into his pouch and he got a few rupees and said,"I only have about 200 rupees."

I looked into my wallet and I looked at how many rupees I had left. I thought to myself,"I have more than 300 rupees, I have at least about 600 of them, I spent some of the rupees on ammo for my bullets, poison darts and throwing knives... I was hoping to save of this after this whole mess its over and stash them with the rest but, it looks like I have no choice."

I got the 300 rupees and Link saw this and said,"Whoa hold (Y/n)! I thought you were going to save of that for buying the ranch back!" I said,"Link, sometimes we have to make sacrifices, right now dealing the enemies comes first and then I can deal with that large bill later, kay?" Link nods his head and I gave Fado the 300 rupees.

I gave Fado the rupees and he said,"Heh heh... I knew you'd see the light, buddy. Now I'll just be a sec." 'be a sec' he said, he took more than a second it actually took him a few days and nights to fix that cannon.

After a while had passed, Fado finally finished fixing the cannon. He said to us,"Here we go, buddies. All working as it should...I think. It may look like junk, but this thing's got some powerful innards! You're going to be knocking on the door to the heavens! Seriously, buds... It might be rough! So... I'm sorry for soaking you for the dough. I'll leave you to alone, then. Heh heh... Well, you just have the fun you want, OK, buddies?" Fado said as he walked back to his shop.

Link and I looked at the cannon and I said,"Well, for an old guy he actually did a great job, considering that he took longer than a second." Link then said,"Yeah, well, it was worth it though, next time I'll do the buying when something like this comes up, you should be saving some of your money for your ranch."

I said,"I know but, dealing with the enemy comes first though, I can't be worrying about the ranch until this whole mess is over." Link nods his head with a smile and then said,"OK, well, we should get going come on." Link walked behind of the cannon and there was a golden mark on the inside. Link got his clawshot and he aimed at the mark.

Link wrapped an arm around my waist and he said,"Hang on tight." I wrapped my arms around his neck tightly and then he shot his clawshot onto the mark and it pulled us towards the inside of the cannon. Before the Cannon could fire Ooccoo came running towards the cannon and she jumped inside as well. The cannon aimed at the sky and it fired us into the sky. Link shouted,"Whoaaa!!" I shouted,"AAIIIEEE!!!"
