Tawang-tawa si Nayeon habang kinukwento ko 'yun. She doesn't worry for me anymore unlike the first time she brought me in this club more than a year ago.

Ngayon kasi, I know better how to fight predators like that guy. I know how to handle my alcohol too. I've gone on multiple dates too to know the red flags in someone. And honestly, I still prefer girls.

"Eh the girl before him? What's her name again?"

"Gladys," I sipped my drink, "She's hot and smart. Kaso nag I love you sakin after three drinks on our second date."

Again, she bursted out laughing.

"Bakit kasi hindi na lang si Kai?"

My throat somewhat dried up with the mention of him.

Kai is a great guy. He still likes me. Actually, that Singrapore trip with him was what has gotten us closer. He doesn't know Taylor Swift songs that much but he still enjoyed the concert.

I learned to like him because he was consistent... but he's my boss.

"We talked. I said I like him too but I really can't risk my job being affected."

She hummed. "Oo nga pala, kung hindi sa alak and dating, sa trabaho ka naman subsob mula nung..."

I rolled my eyes. "Nung hiwalayan ako ni Lisa. You can say it now, you know."

"Taray nakamove on na ang beshy ko!"

"Oo naman. It's been so long na."

I leaned on my chair, letting the liquid swirl on this glass I'm holding while the ice clinks against it.

The next few weeks had been busy. I was promoted to AVP, Kai's previous position.

Previous because he just resigned.

"Alagaan mo 'tong mga taong 'to ah," biro pa ni Kai nang winelcome niya ako sa office na paglilipatan ko. Everyone else are either inside with us or nakapaligid sa office as he bid us all goodbye. "Congratulations, Jennie. Everyone knows you deserved it."

"Aalagaan din namin para sayo, Sir!" biro ni Irene kaya nag hiyawan sila. I glared at all of them.

"Sige, aasahan ko 'yan," he winks at me. "Wala na pala akong dapat ipag-alala eh."

It was actually sad to see him go. Maganda kasi pamamalakad ni Kai but he was also reachable to each of his staff. Kaya maraming nalungkot nang mag resign siya.

Anyway, it's not as if he'll permanently be out of our lives. He finally asked me on a date this coming weekend. This time, I said yes because he's no longer my boss.

Only, the date was a disaster.

I recognized the server on that restaurant Kai chose.

"You work here?" tanong ko.

Ten smiled, "Kakastart ko lang last month. Musta ka na, Ate?"

"I'm fine..." I forced a smile then looked at Kai, "Ten is like a little brother to me. Ten, this is Kai."

"Sup, man," Kai shook his hand.

Tumango lang si Ten, his smile not as wide anymore. He quickly listed our orders tapos umalis na.

I looked at Kai, "I'll be back."

"Sure, go ahead."

Sinundan ko si Ten. Inabot lang niya 'yung papel sa mga tao sa loob at kinausap saglit. Afterwards, I approached him.
