Stepping into the maze is something I've never done at night before. It's a different feeling touching the leaves with my fingertips and feeling the grass tickle my feet at night. It feels peaceful. Also, it feels nice that I'm not being followed as no one knows where I've gone.

Walking further into the maze, the laughter and the music weaken. I am grateful for not feeling suffocated anymore. I've always enjoyed parties in the kingdom, but in the last few years, my father has always tried to find me a husband, and this time, he succeeded.

Not letting that get to me, I enjoy feeling free. I was bringing my hand up to touch the little light bugs that danced around me as I walked my way through the maze in hopes of finding the man who came in here.

About to make the last turn, I stopped after I heard a man's voice speaking softly in his hands. Peaking around the bush, I see him kneeling against the pond with hands in a praying position. Admiring the man, I realise he's who I saw come in. Now I'm grateful I've found him, but now I'm quickly realising what danger I could be in once I saw his shard sword on the floor next to him. I'm such an idiot for thinking this was a good idea. Especially at night.

Shaking my head at myself, I was about to turn around when a stupid twig snapped underneath my heels. Throwing my head back in anger, I realised I couldn't hear the man anymore. Silently, I press my back against the bush, hoping he's gone. But that wasn't the case when I heard a deep voice speak.

"I know someone's there. Who are you, and why are you following me." He says, and to my right, I see the sharp tip of the sword moving forward. Just as he was about to turn the corner, I shouted.

"WAIT!"

Realising it was a womens voice, the man pulled his sword away from the bush but still held it in front of him in case I was a threat. Not wanting this to turn into a blood bath, I walk round the corner with my dress shimmering with the light from the moon and water. Thankfully, my face was still covered from the shadow of the bushes. It gives me a good chance to get a look at the man. I realise this was the man on Contessa. Looking down, I see he's wearing clothes similar to what he was wearing this morning but cleaner and with fewer cuts on the shirt. His brown hair danced with the gentle wind and his eyes, piercing blue eyes similar to mine looking at me but not knowing what I looked like. He was a beautiful man but also dangerous looked. I could see the scars up his arms, no doubt from the journey with my brother.

Didn't know how long I was standing there quietly until I felt the tip of his sword on my neck. He applied a bit of pressure, which caused me to back away a bit more, feeling scared.

"I'll ask again who you are. What business do you have here." He demanded. His eyes darkening.

"Please don't." I whispered, afraid. Knowing he succeeded in scaring me, he pulled away. Taking a deep breath, I stepped into the light. The darkness in his eyes lightened, and his face dropped as soon as he saw my face. He knelt to the floor quickly, throwing his sword to the floor.

"My lady, please forgive me. I didn't realise it was you. I mean no harm, I swear to you." He looks down ashamed.

Hearing me walk closer to him, he looks up at me. I look down at him quickly. Noticing his chest hair sticking out of his white shirt that was open halfway down his chest. Coughing silently embarrassed slightly.

"No harm was done. I'm okay, you're okay. We're okay." I say to him. It was true. None of us was harmed. Only me being curious led us to be in this situation.

"I saw you from the balcony up there," I pointed to the balcony. You could just see the shadows of everyone dancing. Continuing, I say, "I was curious. I saw you coming here and I decided to follow. I'm the fool. I shouldn't be out here either, but I wanted some fresh air. I caught you off guard. I'm sorry." I genuinely meant it. I didn't mean to catch him off guard.
