Chapter 22

Rosanna walks out first and is followed by the rest of us. I walk out last, and immediately I get wolf whistled by the crew who watched us walk out.

"Hello, boys." I heard Rosanna say as she and the others rounded the corner. Our men were sitting on the steps just behind the poles, the poles blocked their view of me.

When I turned the corner, they stopped talking. I heard gasps when they saw me. I looked up from the floor, seeing them with their mouths open and the girls smiling widely.

Everyone had a different reaction. Xavier was gobsmacked. Joshua and Adrian were staring. Wilfred was smiling.

My attention then went to Jake who was sitting on the stairs. When our eyes met, I saw him gasp loudly and clench his hands like they wanted nothing more than to wrap around me. He was staring intensly, wanting to remember my body.

"Aurora. You look good." Adrian says, standing on the steps. I smiled and looked down, but before I could say anything, the person keeping watch shouted.

"LAND AHEAD." I look up seeing him point out. I run up the steps on the other side. As soon as I went up, Jake followed.

"Use this." He whispered. Very close to me, our bodies almost touching. I gasped quietly as his hand touched mine. It sent shock waves through my body. I looked down, seeing him wearing the white shirt and blue vest, with cream trousers and his black boots with a red stripe on.

"Thank you." I whispered back and took the telescope from him. I pulled it to make it longer before looking through. The island looked massive. There were eagles and hawks flying around and another creature that I didn't know.

"That island is massive." Juliet says, looking over the edge. Everyone murmurs in agreement.

"We're anchoring down here. Prepare the boats for the ten going." The captain says, and everyone gets to work.

Without realising, me and Jake move at the same time and go to move down the steps. I laugh quietly as he moves back, letting me past.

"After you." He says. He's trying. I'll give him that. I run down the steps, and Jake is close behind me. I look to Rosanna seeing her smirking like her plan was working.

My feet moved to the edge next to Juliet as we looked at the island as the men behind us prepared to drop anchor.

"He's looking at you." Juliet whispers to me, smiling. She loves the fact that the plan is working like a dream.

"Bend down slowly, Aurora." Rosanna says next to us, making both of us shout in surprise. Juliet nodded, and I bent over, pretending to look down. As soon as I did that, we heard something drop. We look behind us, seeing Jake standing in front of some rope that he dropped. His eyes were on me.

"Aurora, I've packed some bed bits in here as well as a water bottle for you." Xavier says, coming to stand next to me. We were all taking bed rolls with us as we're all thinking it's going to take a couple of days.

"Thank you." I say, walking forward to hug him. He smiles and returns the hug tightly and kisses my forehead.

"You've got him weak at the knees, you know that." Xavier whispers. Rosanna laughs after hearing him say that before high fiving Juliet.

"Good." Vanessa says, coming over to sit with us.

"You got a sword." Xavier asks both me and Rosanna. I nodded, pointing over towards where Rosanna had hers. He nodded and walked away to Kingston.

"Be safe." The girls say to me and Rosanna as we stand in front of them. We are going to go downstairs now and wait for the men.

"We will." We both say before hugging each girl tightly. I hug Melody tight, letting her know it's going to be okay.
