Chapter 47

We pulled away quickly, but I was still held in Jake's arms as we turned our heads to look at everyone who was looking forward in shock.

"No." Connor whispered in shock as I turned my head past Jake's shoulder, who followed my lead as our eyes widened when we saw the destroyer facing side ways and ready to attack.

"PREPARE TO ATTACK." Frédéric shouted, and I could hear the fear in his voice as everybody started to run around to grab what they could to defend our ship.

"Jake." I whispered in fear as I looked up at my husband, who moved his hands to my cheeks and pressed his forehead against mine.

"Whatever happens. I love you and I'll find you. My family." Jake whispered before the whole ship shook as another loud boom hit the water in front of our ship, and it sent some of us to the floor.

"QUICKLY MEN. WE'VE GOT TO DEFEND OURSELVES." Xavier shouted as he ran over to us with Rosanna as the roaring from the destroyer got louder by the second.

"I'm scared." I whispered as I laid a hand on Jake's chest and one hand on our bump before my eyes darted around before I looked up at the watch post and I couldn't help but scream loudly seeing an arrow in a man's head.

"Fuck." Jake snapped before pulling me into his chest to avert my eyes from the horrifying view.

"WE'RE UNDER ATTACK." The captain shouted as another boom from the destroyer hit the ship on the left side, and we all go tumbling to the floor.

"You're okay." Jake whispered under me as he took the fall for us both. The shock on my eyes stayed present as I'm pulled back to a standing before I looked around, seeing some members of our crew and Frédéric's dead on the edge.

"AURORA." My head turned hearing Christian shouting happily on his ship. I could see him clearly, and he was waving with a wide smile on his face.

"SURRENDER NOW. OR WE WILL DESTROY YOU." Their captain shouted next to Christian, and I couldn't help but shiver when I saw the evil smirk in his face.

"DO WE GIVE UP." Jake shouted while pulling out our sword as we all stood in a line and faced Christian whose smirk grew wider when our eyes met.

"OR DO WE FIGHT." Xavier shouted as I heard the sizzling of another bomb getting ready from our ship.

"WE FIGHT." Everyone shouted altogether as I heard more shouting from down below before I was pushed backwards slightly as the bomb left our ship and hit the water directly in front of Christian who was pushed back by the captain who started to shout more orders.

"Get downstairs. All of you." Jake demanded as he dragged me and Melody towards the door but I shook my head and pushed him backwards.

"This is our fight. We do this together." I demanded as another bomb left our ship quickly, but another loud bomb from their end made us all look to see both bombs meeting each other and creating a massive explsion.

"HIT THE DECK." Xavier shouted as debris started to fall onto the deck. Jake pulled me against the wall just as a large piece of the cannonball hit the deck where Jake and I were standing.

I lifted my head up from Jake's chest, who had a tight grip on my arms as we watched the fire surrounding the cannonball, starting to spread around the deck.

"BUCKETS." Chris shouted as Antonio past him one, and quickly, Chris and Joseph poured two buckets over the burning cannonball that was thankfully put out.

"Below deck." Xavier whispered breathless, and Jake shouted for Antonio and Caleb, who came running over to us with fear on their faces.

"Do you promise me that you will look after all six girls with your lives." Jake demanded as Desmond gave both of the two boys a sword. I looked back at Christian, who was happily standing by the captains wheel, looking through the telescope at us.
