I woke up in the morning with a news that really brightens my day in an instant. Nakabalik na ulit sa kulungan si Herman Gutierrez, ang mapagsamantalang politiko. And aside from that, his brother, Carlos Gutierrez, the businessman who took advantage of my family's situation, is now going down.
Hindi ko alam kung paano nangyari na halos isang linggo lang ay maayos na ang problema ng aming pamilya. I know that Caesar has something to do with it. Noong mga huling araw bago lumabas ang balitang 'yon ay naging mas busy siya sa mga bagay-bagay. Iyong tipong kahit na nandito siya sa bahay ay halos minu-minuto may kausap siya sa cellphone niya. I'm sure that some of it is about work but for the other's, I'm not really sure.
"How did this happen so fast, Caesar?" I asked him one time.
He was sitting on a stool in front of the kitchen counter when I approach him. He look at me with a questioning look on his face.
"What happened, baby?" He asked so innocent that I almost give away. . .but I didn't.
"I saw the news," I sighed and stared at him.
I met his gaze and I didn't back down from it.
"Herman's back in jail and their business is going down." Hindi lang basta-basta pagkalugi. They are definitely going down at the bottom. Fast. "It's like a paper burning into pieces of ashes."
He pursed his lips then look away. Hindi siya agad na sumagot. He sip on his coffee once again.
"Caesar. . ." I called making him look at me. "I know it's you who is behind all of it. H-how. . .how did you do it?"
I know that he is powerful. He had his chains of businesses and companies all over the world but the Gutierrez had also something in the underworld and that is something that Caesar and his power cannot probably handle.
"I just asked a friend of mine."
Tumaas ang kilay ko. Friend? "And? Who's this friend of yours?"
"Alvaro's. Don't stress about it, baby. Everything is okay and and it's all under control."
Inabot niya ang aking baywang at saka marahan akong niyakap. Ibinaon niya ang mukha sa may dibdib ako. I sighed and hug him back.
"Thank you for handling my family's problem, Caesar."
"Your family is also mine now, ma chérie. Whatever the problem is, I am always here to support you and fix all those problems for you."
I chuckled. "Baka naman masanay na akong palaging umaasa sayo?"
Nakakunot ang noo niya ng mag-angat ng tingin sa akin. "So what? I'll be with you in this lifetime anyway."
I smiled and just nodded may head. "You know. . .I'm not used to this. Alam mo naman na nasanay akong mag-isa. Nakakapanibago sa pakiramdam na magkaroon ng katuwang sa lahat." I smiled at him. "Thank you."
Lumamlam ang kaniyang mata. He reach for my face and held me in his hands gently. "You'll never be alone again. You have me and our baby. We will always be here for you."
"Kumusta ang wedding preparation?" Tita Anna asked while we are having dinner. "Kailangan ba ninyo ng tulong?" Bumaling siya sa akin at ngumiti. "I'de be more than willing to help, iha. Sabihin mo lang kung ano ang kailangan mo."
Ngumiti ako sa kaniya. "It's okay, Tita. Natutulungan naman po ako ng wedding organizer."
May Ann is also helping me with the preparation. It was also May Ann's restaurant who will cater the wedding's reception.
