Y/n thrashed in the scarf, and got out of it quickly before looking around. They caught glimpse of two people. One was blonde and at least twice Y/n's size, and the other was slouching and obviously tired. It seemed the latter was the one that attempted to capture Y/n.

Not able to tell if they were demons or not, Y/n approached them in caution, "Hello..?" They questioningly greeting, only to receive a huff from the tired man.

The other, fit one, however, smiled brightly and nodded his head, "Good day, young civilian!" He shouted, freaking out the half-demon.

"Yeah, uh..." They paused, scanning the two of them for any danger. They didn't feel hostile, but that was such an abstract thing it was hard to tell, "Where am I?"

The scruffy man glanced up at the taller one, grunting, "We're in Musutafu, Japan." He stated plainly.

Y/n bit their lip, "I've never heard of such a place," They mused, "And this is even more modern than Asakusa..." The slayer observed, dumbfounded.

"Asakusa..?" The tired man thought for a moment, "Isn't that the traditional-style town with all of the shrines?" He asked rhetorically.

"What?" Y/n spat out, "No way! That place is like- super new!" They argued intensely.

The tired man whispered something to the other, before the two turned back to Y/n, "If you don't mind, we want to take you in for questioning." He said politely.

Y/n nodded suspiciously, they still had no clue whether or not to trust the two. But, they were in an unfamiliar place filled with unfamiliar people and this was their best shot of getting back home.

After a bit of a walk they made it. The two men walked slowly and guided Y/n, much to their frustration. They were used to walking fast, and jumping all over the place, not this crap!

Once they made it, Y/n must have seemed exhausted. They were nothing of the sort, just annoyed. The buffer man picked them and carried them to the questioning room, much to their dismay.

"Hey! You can put me down!" They told the man harshly, "I'm not tired, I could run marathons, I promise!" They insisted, but the man did not believe them.

He only laughed, "It's quite alright, young one!" He insisted, as if Y/n had said that for his own gain!

"Listen here you super hero looking-" Y/n was interrupted by a door opening.

They were put down, and inside the room was a table and two chairs. One of the chairs had a person sitting in it. He had a loving brown trench coat and a matching hat to cover his hair.

Y/n was nudged inside by the blonde man, and the detective smiled, "Hello! Please, take a seat!" He said warmly.

Y/n hesitantly obliged, walking in and sitting down carefully.

"So, I heard you fell from the sky," The man mused, his eyes boring into theirs, "Do you know how it happened?"

Y/n's eyes narrowed at the man. He was a police officer, part of the government. The government didn't officially recognize demons as a real thing, so they had no clue if he would believe them or not.

"I don't know."

The man sighed, almost deflating at the answer, "Lie. Try again." He said.

Y/n flinched, how did he know that? What about them made it seem as if they were lying? Did they take to long to answer?

Recuperating from the shock, they asked, "How do you know that?"

The man smiled, "Ah, that's not for you to know right now." He said gently, "Now then, try again."

Y/n pursed their lips, "Fine, I was fighting a demon," They said, "They were strong- like, really strong. And when I finally got close enough to defeating them, some black mist surrounded me and brought me here." They explained, knowing the man wouldn't believe them one bit.

The man was seemingly shocked, but merely nodded, "I'm sorry for starting out so strong, I had no clue it would be such a loaded question," He apologized, "What's your name and age, then?"

"Uh..." Y/n paused for a moment, thinking. They couldn't lie, but the being 18 felt like a bit of a stretch. They looked younger than their colleagues that were that age, after all, they were part demon. Still, they couldn't lie to this guy, "Y/n L/n, and I'm eighteen years old." They said.

The man looked at them for a moment, and nodded, "Do you have any family?" He asked.

Y/n shook their head, "No, they all left me when I was around five." They explained.

The detective gave them a sad look, as if he pitied them. Y/n hated being pitied, "I'm sorry. Do you have a job?"

Y/n thought for a moment, pondering whether or not being a demon slayer was a job or not. They didn't really get paid, but housing was free, and so was medical treatment and food.

"I guess? I don't know." They sighed, "I'm a demon slayer."

The man nodded, looking shocked, "Do you slay these demons with that sword?" He asked.

"Yes, this nirichin blade is the only type of weapon that can!" They boasted, proud of the sword.

"What is your quirk?"

That question caught them off guard. They had no clue what a quirk was, after all, "Umm... I'm half demon, I suppose?"

The man smiled, "And what does your quirk entail?" He asked back.

"I'm able to regenerate limbs and other body parts, albeit slower than normal demons, and I'm stronger than a human but weaker than demons." They explained, "I can't be out in the sun for over around ten hours, or I'll start to disintegrate, though."

"And is that really your quirk?"

Y/n paused at this, "Umm... I mean, I don't know what else would be..." They admitted, "What is a quirk?"

The detective gaped, "Well- it's a power you grow at the age of around five." He said, "It comes with drawbacks, and can be about anything, mine's lie detecting." He explained, using himself as an example.

"Well then, I suppose I don't have one." They admitted, "And also, I don't think I'm from around here. Like, at all."
