Y/n gave Hawks a skeptical look as he took them past the beach, "I know my way from here, you can leave y'know?" They frowned, picking up their pace.
Hawks only laughed, "C'mon! I just want to keep you safe, mockingbird!" He poked Y/n's arm, trying to elicit a reaction.
Y/n, of course, just ignored him and kept walking, "Mockingbird?" They hummed, "Why not something nicer, like songbird or angel?" They scoffed.
Hawks cooed, ruffling his feathers, "Do you want a more endearing nickname, mockingbird?" He asked, "I could give you one!~"
Y/n's lip's formed an unimpressed straight line as they gave him a deadpan stare, "I'd rather you not call me a nickname at all, Hawks," They said, unimpressed, "And the place I'm staying is coming up, so you can go away."
Hawks only pouted, inching closer to Y/n, "You're such a... what's the word again...?" His voice trailed off for a moment, giving Y/n a moment of peace before he opened his mouth again, "A tsundere! Tsun-de-re!" He chanted, spelling out the initials.
Y/n ignored him as they turned onto the street All Might's house was on. It was small, and inconspicuous. No villain would think of attacking it simply based on the looks. Y/n's gaze shifted from the house a few feet away back to Hawks, "You really do have to leave now," They said, "Toshinori told me I can't let people know where he lives, privacy reasons," They shrugged. His home wasn't nearly as guarded as the Ubuyashiki estate, but nothing from this world was like Y/n's world.
Hawks sighed, "Fine, but I want you to have something!" He smiled as he plucked a red feather off of his wings, "Take this, as a token and a way to contact me," He handed Y/n the red feather, to which they stared at it in confusion and suspicion, "If you need me, break it and I'll come to where you are!"
Y/n nodded wordlessly before watching Hawks walk away dejectedly. As Y/n inspected the feather, they stroked it, realizing how soft it was. It reminded them of Tamayo's familiar- Chachamaru- due to its feeling. Y/n frowned, turning around and walking to Toshinori's house.
They felt homesick, especially missing Tamayo and Yushiro. Yushiro was older than Y/n, and his transformation was a success. Tamayo had chalked up Y/n's failure to them being so young. She had given them a modified medicine that put less strain on their body, but it also ended up giving them less demon qualities. Although their turning was a failure, their life was far less miserable than the other demons seeing as they didn't need to eat humans and could go into the sun.
Y/n smiled at the memories. When they got back to their world, they would visit the two demons.
Opening the door to the house, Y/n took off their shoes and walked over to where they felt Toshinori's presence. He was sat on the couch in his No Might form, watch the news. His head shot to Y/n, a worried expression plastered on his face, "Y/n! You said you were only going on a walk," He said, running over to the part demon, "You're on the news, they're looking for you!"
Y/n blinked, waltzing to the television and turned it off before promptly sitting down, "Why? Not like I did anything wrong," They shrugged.
"Well, of course not," Toshinori's voice softened as he sat right next to Y/n, "But those people think you did," He scowled, "Not to worry, Y/n, I'll put a stop to this slander!" His scowl formed into a confident smile.
Y/n's frown deepened in return, "Toshinori, don't treat me as if I'm your child," They spoke calmly, yet there was a threatening edge to their voice, "I think you've forgotten since I've been so complacent with you, but I'm no child, nor am I stupid," Toshinori could have sword their pupils morphed into slits. For the first time, he realized how sick they looked, as if all of the blood had been drained from their body, "So, don't forget that, and don't ever look down on me," They threw him a glace, before standing up and yawning, "I'm going to bed."
As Y/n walked over to their small room, they heard Toshinori breathing heavily. They looked at him, examining his shivering body, before turning around. After walking into their room, they sighed, pulling out the small red feather from their pocket and smirking.
Could Hawks track this, they wondered? Could he feel it, did he know Y/n was examining it as they were? They blew on the feather, watching the air parse through it's barbs before settling once more. Their amused smirk faded as they sighed, putting the feather down on their small nightstand.
They flung themself lightly (for them, at least) onto the bed and groaned. In only a few days, they'd be going to U.A, the supposed best and brightest school in the entire world, yet even that seemed so borish. They missed the challenge of fighting demons, which, even if boring to them, was still so much more entertaining than this world.
They wished a demon would appear.
