"Shouldn't you be at the sport's festival?" Dabi asked Y/n. They didn't turn to face him. They couldn't bear to let him see them in such a pathetic state, "You are Y/n, right?"
Dabi... He was a strange man. Y/n knew he didn't really like them. But, he was loyal. Y/n had helped him, and therefore may help him again. So he kept on talking to them. He didn't truly care about Y/n.
"Y/n? Why're you being all quiet? It's unlike you," He said, his voice slightly teasing.
Y/n liked that Dabi had no real feelings for them. That way he'd never end up like the heroes.
The heroes that were keeping Y/n away from Kyojuro.
"Dabi, can you promise me something?"
Dabi scoffed, "Promise ya somethin'? Depends on what it is."
"Please, never like me," They asked, though their voice came out like begging. Dabi was interesting. He was entertaining. Y/n didn't care for Dabi as a person, they didn't want him to care for them like one too.
The villain rolled his eyes, "Damn, you're self obsessed," He teased, "Yeah, yeah, whatever, I don't like you now, I won't ever like you, got it?"
Y/n sighed, "Thank you, Dabi.." They said.
"Whatever.. anyways, are you fuckin' crying?" He questioned.
Y/n paused for a moment, before sighing, "Yes.."
Dabi groaned, "Who the fuck made you cry?" He asked, "Must be a demon.. I didn't know you had any real emotions."
"If only," They scoffed, "It was my teacher.. roommate.. hero.. whatever. It was a hero."
"A hero made you cry?" He repeated, "Do you want to stay at my place for a bit, then?"
Y/n bit their lip, still not turning around, "..Why?" They asked him.
"Because you're a fucking mess, Y/n," He stated, "And apparently your roommate's the cause. I owe ya one still, think of this as paying off my.. debt."
Y/n silently nodded, finally turning around to face Dabi. Their eyes were red and puffy. Tears stained their face, and they were still frowning. They looked- for lack of a better word- horrible.
"C'mon," Dabi sighed, not even commenting on the half-demon's appearance. He turned around, waving for them to follow him, "It's not far. Don't make me carry you."
Y/n hummed, following closely behind, "I'm not weak, Dabi."
"I'm well aware, Y/n."
When the two had arrived at Dabi's 'home' Y/n was pleasantly surprised at its state. It was another abandoned building, but this one was far nicer than the last one. There was no moldy walls or cobwebs, at worst the paint was chipping off and the wood was slightly worn. Dabi lead Y/n inside. There was a small couch as well as a table with two chairs.
Dabi sat on the couch. Y/n followed suit. They stared at the man intently, looking over his scars. He must have been using his quirk a bit before he saw Y/n. There was dried blood on his palms which had yet to be cleaned.
For a moment, Y/n debated bringing his hand to their mouth and licking his hand clean, consuming every drop of now dry blood from his palm.
But they didn't.
"You're hurt," Y/n decided to say, instead of acting on their demonic impulses, "You were bleeding."
Dabi nodded, letting Y/n to grab onto his hand and inspect his injury, "What's it to you?"
"...Just observing," They responded, putting his hand back down. Y/n, in some aspects, admired Dabi's will. His quirk hurt him, and yet he was still dead set on revenge. Y/n wanted to be like that too, "We should fight. Right now."
Dabi shook his head, "No fucking way I'm fighting you," He denied, "You were just crying."
"You're so strong, Dabi.. I really think you could do some damage on me," Y/n sighed, "You know who really could have? Todoroki.. But he was such a loser he barely even used his other half.. it's like he was telling me I wasn't strong enough! I am strong enough to fight him!"
"Todoroki?" Dabi hummed, smiling, "Did you get that boy to use his father's side? Really?"
Y/n sighed, leaning back into the couch and humming, "Yup," They nodded, "But only at the very end. It was cool though, I guess."
"I'm stronger than him," Dabi said, "After you... aren't having a mental breakdown, I'll fight you. Show you how much better I am."
Y/n raised one of their eyebrows, "Are you in some one-sided rivalry with a child?" They questioned.
Dabi shook his head, "No. I'm only sayin', I'm a better fighter."
Y/n smiled at him, "Then, let's fight!"
"I already told you, not right now."
"Aww.."

DABI / TOYA TODOROKI
—After a few hours, Y/n walked out of the house, leaving Dabi alone once again. The hero had stayed and talked to him for hours. Y/n, surprisingly, entertained Dabi quite a lot.
They had since the day he met them. They were different than the rest. They were a 'good hero,' he believed. The kind that helped people.
They helped him, at the very least.
His entire life was spent seeking revenge on his father, a pillar in the hero world. He wanted to destroy that man and all heroes like him. Not Y/n.
Y/n hated heroes too. He noticed it every time they spoke. They were always running from them. From the number one hero, from Hawks, from the scum hero that made them cry.
Y/n must have been like Dabi. Y/n understood Dabi.
He promised them he would never truly like them. But did he really? He never said 'I promise,' so it wasn't truly like breaking one. And he still didn't like Y/n, he was simply curious about them.
Their arrogance that could so quickly turn to self doubt, their aloofness that morphed into sadness. Y/n was interesting. Y/n was like Dabi.
He wanted to see Y/n again, to talk to them and test them. He wanted to know what made them tick. Their wants and desires. Everything about them.
