The rising sun cascaded down onto the man's scruffy hair, like the ashes from a fire that had just burnt out. The light reflecting off of his eyes looked almost like a sheet of ice glazing over a river, but when Y/n looked into them, they noticed a spark which lit a fire in them instead.

His pale skin, patched with purple pieces falling out of their stitched places, looked sickly. Y/n would have thought him to be a demon if he wasn't in front of them, sun reflecting off of his skin.

The winds sang in their ears, weeping as they hummed a soft hymn in the back of Y/n's mind. He, too, was nothing like Y/n. He had no comprehension of their past, present, nor future, but Y/n felt something in him. It was something familiar, something they knew all too well.

"Why are you up here?" The man asked, pulling Y/n from their trance. His voice was deep and gruff, yet had a small inflection at the end.

Y/n blinked, looking down at the bustling city below their feet, "Running away," They shrugged.

The man let out a small chuckle, "From home? What are you, a spoiled brat?" He scoffed, following Y/n's gaze down.

The demon shrugged, "Something like that," They said vaguely, "He must be looking for me already..." They sighed, mumbling to themself.

The man quirked a brow, "He? You got a boyfriend or something?" He scoffed.

Y/n held themself back from gagging, "Not at all. He's my... temporary guardian. For until I get out of here," They said, tucking their knees into their chest. The scanned the city streets, pointing to three heroes on duty, "Those guys," Y/n said, "Aren't normally patrolling this area right now. He probably ordered them to come."

The man blinked, seemingly bewildered at Y/n's comment, "He has that much power? The hell kind of connections do you have?" Y/n responded with a shrug, "Would I know who you were if you told me your name?"

Y/n cocked a brow, "I don't think so..." Their voice trailed off, "I bet they don't want me to be too much in the public eye."

"You're cryptic, you know?" The man sighed in slight irritation.

Y/n clicked their tongue, watching the people pass by, "Only when I have to be," They glanced over to him, their eyes meeting his own, which must have been staring the entire time, "If you're really curious, my name's Y/n. Find out from there."

Y/n watched passively as the man's hand moved closer to their own, their fingertips touching. Unlike his fiery appearance, his hands were icy cold. It sent shivers down Y/n's spine, reminding them of Douma. They frowned.

"You seem strong, y'know?" Y/n said suddenly, catching the man off guard, "I like that in a person."

The man looked Y/n up and down, scrutinizing them, "You... don't," He hummed, "You look weak and fragile."

Y/n's eye twitched as they frowned, "Well, how about we test it out?" Y/n offered, smirking up at the man, "Let's fight!" Y/n said, jumping up and flinging themself off of the ledge and onto the roof.

The man blinked, looking from the ledge where Y/n once sat, to where Y/n stood, "We'd get caught. I'm not risking my life for some fight," He sighed.

"I'd save you," Y/n shrugged, "I'd make sure you don't die, promise!" They said, a fire lighting in their eyes.

He deadpanned, turning around and standing on the roof in front of Y/n, "No thanks. I'd rather not bet on empty promises," He frowned, "Maybe I will, though, if we meet again."

"I don't make empty promises..." Y/n deflated, pouting, "But, if you give me your name, I'll arrange for us to fight somewhere safer for you?" They offered.

The man sighed, "Sure, knock yourself out," He rolled his eyes, "Call me Dabi."

"Great, I'll see you around-" In an instant, Y/n went from where they were standing a few feet away from Dabi, to leaning against him, clutching onto his broad shoulders, "Bye, Dabi!" They whispered into his ear, before disappearing.

Y/n dashed onto another roof, leaving the man they had just met in confusion. After they had gotten far enough away, they pulled out a piece of his coat. Smirking, they pocketed it and kept on moving.

They hummed a sweet tune as they went along from roof to roof, no destination in mind. Not to the heroes, who would force them back to All Might, nor to the villains who safely housed Douma.

Y/n's tracks halted, their silent breath fading into the wind. They frowned, looking at the man on the roof who dressed in all black, a scarf secured loosely around his neck. Y/n's soundless footsteps approached the man, who was none the wiser.

They took their foot, swiping the man's off the roof, and making him fall. The hero gasped, but did not plummet down the side of the building. When he looked up, he was met with a smiling Y/n, holding onto his wrist with one hand.

"Looking for me, Aizawa?"
