Two weeks had passed in the blink of an eye. Y/n had been training Monoma and his friends everyday after school, and even cut their heroics training to help them. (They would have cut it anyways, no way they were facing that man again.)

Y/n hadn't trained much themself, but it wasn't like they needed to. As long as they were accustomed to the sun, it didn't matter.

Today was the day of the sport's festival. No doubt everyone must have been excited, but not Y/n. They were, if anything, annoyed. Aizawa didn't let them be excused from it, so they were forced to participate and hold back their strength.

"Y/n," Aizawa called out. His injuries were gone. Miraculously, they had healed the night Y/n was out with Dabi. He didn't know how.

Y/n had assumed it was Monoma, and questioned him about it, but he had no idea either. The harsh injuries Aizawa had sustained just... disappeared.

Of course, he didn't seem too bothered about it, so Y/n wasn't either.

"Those 1-B kids aren't here today?" Aizawa asked, looking around Y/n's room.

Y/n shook their head, "Nah, they wanted to get proper rest before today," Monoma, Itsuka, and Tetsu had made a habit for sleeping over after training. The three were too exhausted to go home, and it was dark out so there was threat of a villain attacking.

"Y/n, can I ask you something?" Aizawa spoke up, staring at Y/n through slightly lidded and tired eyes, "I've been wondering for a while, and I've never been able to figure it out."

Y/n hummed, nodding slightly, "Ask away, Aizawa. I don't mind."

"You seemed so much more alive the first days you got here," Aizawa said, "You showed more emotions, and you spoke up far more than you do now."

Y/n pursed their lips, clicking their tongue, "That's not anything I noticed in particular," They told Aizawa, "But, I suppose it's because I don't want to get close to anyone in this world."

"I'm leaving this world, I know I am. So, forging connections is pointless, right?" Y/n said, "As a hero who goes on underground missions, you must understand. The people you meet on those missions will disappear, there's no need to get connected to them."

Aizawa shook his head, "I don't know if I agree with that, Y/n."

Y/n walked past Aizawa, going into the living room, "I don't think that matters. I've made up my mind about things like that."

"What about Monoma? And Kendo, and Tetsutetsu?" Aizawa asked, making Y/n pause, "You're attached to them, aren't you?"

Y/n swallowed thickly, not looking at Aizawa as they gathered their things, "That's... No. I'm not attached to them. I don't care about them whatsoever."

It wasn't a lie. It wasn't. Y/n wasn't attached to them. They were only helping because they were supposed to help the weak. Y/n didn't care about the 1-B kids. They weren't their friends.

"Really?" Aizawa asked, approaching Y/n, "It's fine if they are, Y/n. You'll be here for a while, so make it count."

"No I won't," Y/n's hands moved quickly, "I'll leave, and I'll go back to my world with my friends, and my family."

Y/n would leave, they'd make sure of it. Even if Aizawa, and All Might, and everyone else begged them to stay, they wouldn't. They had a job to do. They had to save the people from their world.

"I have a job to do in my world, Aizawa," Y/n said, slinging their backpack over their shoulder, "Like you defeat villains, I slay demons. I have to get home and kill Muzan-" Y/n paused.

Their head hurt.

Why did they want to kill the demon king so badly? Weren't they a slayer for fun? Not because they wanted to kill the king?

Had they ever displayed interest in it before?

"I want to become a demon.. I want to kill that man!"

What was it they had told Dabi two weeks ago? That they had begun to think they were a demon slayer because of revenge?

"Please, I beg of you! Make me stronger!"

Was that right? Why had they been so set on becoming a demon slayer for years? Was it something that had been buried in their memory?

"This place... he burnt it to the ground. I swear, I'll find him."

Y/n clutched their head. It hurt. It hurt so bad.

"I thought I'd find you here," Tamayo smiled at the small six year old child. They were shivering, their arms barely covered by their too-short Yakuta.

Y/n's eyes didn't drift from the home in front of them. Though, it was no longer recognizable as a home. It had collapsed in on itself, and been slightly burnt. The wood that had remained was rotting and old.

Y/n L/n sighed, closing their eyes, "I... I don't understand.." They told the demon, "Why... why had he spared me?" They asked her, "Why didn't he kill me when he murdered mother and father?"

Tamayo's hand rubbed the child's back, "That man is cruel, Y/n," She told them, her voice soft.

"Miss Tamayo.. I want.. I want to kill him," They admitted, "I want to make him bow at my feet and grovel.. I want to kill him horribly," Was that a bad thing for the child to say?

Y/n sniffled, their eyes still stuck on their old home, "Please, Tamayo, make me a demon. Make me strong enough to kill him. I want to kill him."

"Y/n.." Tamayo sighed, "Being a demon.. is not something you should wish for."

"I don't care!" The child said, "I don't care, I don't care! My body's too weak to become a slayer, so... Being a demon is my only option."

"../n! Y/n!"

Y/n's eyes slowly opened, adjusting to the bright lights.

"Y/n! You passed out for a few minutes, I was worried," Aizawa said, helping Y/n stand up.

The half-demon blinked, clutching their head, "I... Aizawa," Y/n shook their head clearing their thoughts, "Sorry, I don't know what that was."

Nothing made sense. That dream (or memory, whichever it was) made no sense. Y/n became a demon out of sickness, not because they desired to be one.

Aizawa hummed, "You're alright?" Y/n nodded, "Then let's go. We have the sport's festival to go to."
