I walk out the school doors to see a smiling Corbin leaning against his car. "There she is" he basically yells getting the attention of the three girls walking behind me.
"What are you doing" I mouth as I make my way towards him. "Nothing, waiting for you" he gestures to me opening his car door.
It feels like everyone's eyes are on us as he pulls me in giving me a small peck on the cheek before letting me get in his car.
"Your girlfriends look jealous" I joke."Oh yeah?" I can see in his eyes he is mentally planning something but I can't tell quite what. "Yes" I give him my sweet smile, sitting back into my seat.
Corbin looks at me the moves his hand to the door, rolling the windows down. He leans in grabbing my neck and pulling me into him.
"Let's give them something to be jealous of then" he says not even giving me the chance to respond before he catches my lips with his.
His lips move on mine in a perfect motion until he inevitably moves away. Giving me one last kiss to my forehead he starts the car.
I reluctantly look over to see if the girls are still around, to my surprise they are still standing on the sidewalk looking into the car.
My face grows red from the attention. Corbin must notice because he places his hand on my thigh with a polite nod.
"Are you going to Vincent and Draven's last game tonight?" I break the comforting silence. "Do you want to?" he questions keeping his eyes steadily on the road awaiting his turn at the stop sign.
"Yes, I do, Usually my answer would be no but it's their last game. I want to support them tonight" I also just want more time with Corbin but he doesn't need to know that.
"Only if I can take you" he moves his eyes quickly from the road, landing on mine he searches my face for an answer.
Yes obviously, Why else would I ask him if he was going? "I guess I can make that work." I teased, sticking my tongue out like a child.
"You're cute" he whispers under his breath. Not knowing how to respond I instead bow my head, the crimson color likely obvious on my cheeks.
I turn my eyes to Corbin, his free hand tapping on the wheel to the beat of my music. He will never admit this but I think it's starting to grow on him. The song comes to an end just as we pull onto my road.
My eyes grow wide. My eyes settle on a blue Altima sitting in my driveway. Aunt Meredith. About once every year my parents feel bad for leaving me here alone while they travel for work. My aunt is sent here to relieve them of that guilt.
"Are you okay?" Corbin sounds in my ear, pulling me back to earth. "Yeah I'm fine" I retort giving him a fake reassuring smile. "I'll pick you up at 7" he states pulling me in for a quick goodbye kiss.
"It's a date" I reply sending him a wink. I head up the driveway not wanting to look back as I'm now nervous from my own words.
I quickly open the door shutting it behind me. "Is someone chasing you?" my aunt chimes from the kitchen.
"Nope, I just asked a guy on a date, I think" I question myself as I walk toward her sitting at the counter. "Sounds interesting tell me about this guy" She uses dramatic air quotes on "guy".
My aunt has always been one for the dramatics. She's been there for me as long as I can remember. Especially the last few years.
"There's not much to explain, I used to hate him but now I don't. It's confusing. Help me pick out an outfit like old times?" I don't know how to label what's going on especially out loud.
Aunt Meredith and I are close. We always have been. She used to bring her old dresses when she'd babysit and we'd dress up together. Though I was tiny and the dresses would fall off me I still felt like a princess.
"These are cute" She tosses me a white tank top and my favorite pastel green knitted button-up sweater. "You know me so well" and she does this is exactly what I would've picked.
She walks to my dresser throwing me the last piece to the outfit. "Adorable" she says throwing me a pair of ripped denim shorts.
She moves her feet to leave me to it. "Thank you" I yell out before her feet hit the stairs. "Anytime Kat".
I'm sure the girls are also going to the game. I mean I can't see Mel not dragging Raven to Dravens last game to root him on.
I've taken a shower and got ready. I paired the outfit with a cute pair of white sneakers. It's only 6:45 but I have a weird feeling like Corbin isn't going to come.
I decide to get my mind off of it and sit with my favorite aunt on the couch. She's watching some reality TV shows like always. "Yes, that is hot" my aunt says as the outfit she picks comes into her view.
"Why thank you" I say with a smile. We sit like this for a while before the doorbell rings. It's not like Corbin to do so. I'm barely on my feet before my wonderful (nosey) aunt opens the door.
"You must be her date?" The wine she drank earlier was obvious in her voice. "That would be me" he simply states and my face falls. "Aren't you going to introduce me?" She looks to me and Corbin follows suit.
"Nope" I retort swiftly making my way to Corbin pulling him to the car before I'm embarrassed further.
"Who was that?" Corbin hums next to me. "My Aunt and you're not her type, now move along before we're late" I poke. He laughs off my comment as he pulls out of my driveway.
