Destined for Love

Thirteen

It's been a week since the party. I have yet to tell anyone of my day spent with the devil or the part where I KISSED CORBIN. He hasn't even looked at me in the halls or came to lunch since.

"Now that we are on the topic of him I suppose I need to know who made the first move" I look at Mel her face ridden with excitement.

"He did, ok so listen up. We were sitting next to each other on the couch and it was Vincents turn to ask. He dared me to sit on Dravens lap" Mel speaks fast almost out of breath. "Oh god I can't hear this." Raven covers her ears dramatically.

"Then when I climbed onto him he put his hand around me and kissed my arm." Mel and Draven mind as well be the same person because I know for a fact he asked Vincent to ask her that dare.

"Where did you disappear to?" Raven averts her attention to me. Great now I have to come up with something. "I felt sick from all the vodka, I ordered an Uber home" I lie my ass off. "You still can't hold your alcohol" Raven retorts making Mel laugh.

"We're still having the sleepover tomorrow right?" Raven invited us over tomorrow to hang while the boys will be playing video games and trashing their parentless house. We have off of school tomorrow being it's Labor Day weekend.

"Only if we get to watch the movie we've been waiting to watch for weeks" I say as she's walking out the door. "Anything you want, bring your swimsuit our pool is clean again so we are swimming while we can"

Raven lives In a nice house in a nice huge neighborhood. Though her parents are hardly ever home she has so much to keep herself company.

I walk to the kitchen in need of a snack. Grabbing a bag of chips I walk to my room.

I've been obsessed with true crime recently I don't know what it is about it but finding out all the plot twists and why the killer did what he did is so interesting to me. I lay on my bed and turn on my tv getting comfy in my covers.

I wake up to the sound of something hitting against my window. Terrified I grab the first thing I see.. my hairbrush. Making my way to the window another rock hits it. I look down to see a focused Corbin.

Running down the stairs and out the door hairbrush in hand. "What're you doing here it's like 10 pm" I say straight faced. "We're going for a ride" is all he says before walking off to his car.

Following him my heartbeat begins to race. Where could he possibly need to take me. I slump into the seat shutting the door and he immediately throws the car in gear driving off.

"Where are we going Corbin" I question. "For a drive" he looks at me with a smile before returning his focus to the road.

About 20 minutes into the drive I notice the road we are on has nothing but forest on each side. "Are you taking me out here to kill me?" It's a good question but also I fell asleep watching that show and am a little on edge.

"Of course not, we are going to my favorite place" he laughs like it shouldn't have been a question.

He finally pulls into a dirt path and turns the car off walking out he continues further into the wooded path. I follow him.

We walk down a hill and past a big rock before finally ending at a cliff with a view of a beautiful waterfall and lake. "Wow" is all I can say.

"Come sit with me" his words almost come out as a question. I sit next to him with my legs dangling off the small drop.

"Why did you bring me here?" He looks up to meet my eyes. "This is where I come to think" he looks back to the sky placing his hand close to mine on the ground.

We've sat in silence for what felt like an eternity. "Do you bring all your girls here?" I question and he looks me in the eyes almost disappointed in my question.

"No, you're the first girl I've ever brought here". And with that the butterflies in my stomach erupt. "Oh" my face must me 10 shades of red.

He scoots closer his arm close enough to feel his warmth against mine. "Y'know, I missed you nerd." His hand reaches up to my straggling hair placing it behind my ear.
