It's Wednesday now, Aunt Mere goes back home today. I've been dreading today since she told me of her departure.

It's so lonely in this huge house. With her here it feels like home. Without her, it feels empty and eerie.

My phone buzzes bringing me out of my head and back to reality.

Corbin kindly offered to come with us to drop her off at the airport, due to her rental being returned early.

His text letting me know he was now 5 minutes away.

"You ready?" I ask Aunt Mere who is clearly still packing her bags. I'm always so surprised when she ends up fitting everything back in her small suitcase.

"Ready" she smiles at me as she finally zips her bag while sitting atop it.

The door closes and I jump to pull my Aunt into a hug before Corbin can reach her room and remind me she's leaving.

"I'll be back, I always come back Katherine" she whispers in my ear causing a tear to fall down my face which I quickly swipe away not wanting her to see.

"You two ready?" Corbin says interrupting our moment.

"Let's do that thang" Aunt Mere jokes.

Corbin quickly puts her suitcase in his trunk before opening our doors for us.

Corbin hands me his phone as he always does so I can play music.

I decided against the normal slow music I use to annoy him as I'm on the verge of tears as is.

I start my playlist I made on his phone but against my wishes of "upbeat music". You're gonna go far by Noah Kahan starts playing.

I let it play out as I look out the window. She's the closest person I have family-wise. I know it's not her fault but I wish she could stay.

I wipe the stray tear as the song comes to an end. Corbin must have noticed as his hand reached for mine. Kissing it softly he entwines them on the center console.

We finally arrive at the airport. Corbin quickly takes Aunt Meres's suitcase out of the trunk allowing us a moment to ourselves.

"Do you have to go back" I whisper, kinda hoping she didn't hear.

"If you need anything at all even just help making macaroni and cheese all you have to do is call. I'll always answer, you know that" she says confirming she heard me.

"I'm going to miss you so much Aunt Meredith" I say, my voice cracking as tears fall down my face. She quickly pulls me into a hug.

"I'll miss you too. I love you to the moon and back. You've grown into such a beautiful young lady Katherine." She coos hugging me a bit tighter.

"I love you to the moon and back" I say now smiling.

She wipes my tears and pulls away slowly as Corbin opens her door.

"See you later alligator" she jokes giving me a wink and smile as she climbs out of the car.

The door shuts and I hear them talking. Turning to look out the window I see Aunt Mere hugging Corbin.

"Take care of her for me" I hear her whisper knowing I wasn't supposed to hear.

"With my life" he responds allowing her to walk away.

She sends me one last smile and wave before walking through the doors of the airport.

Corbin sits next to me turning on the car. He doesn't move yet instead he pulls me into his chest.
