Raven talked about Alexandria the rest of the way to my house. I'm not complaining, however. I'm relieved that I don't have to continue persuading her to ask.
I did a load of laundry and dishes. I've also showered and changed into comfy clothes. I decide to go bother my wonderful aunt as I'm bored just sitting in my room.
I walk to the guest bedroom in which she stays when she comes. She's sitting on her bed reading some magazines.
I knock on her door to get her attention before throwing myself on the bed next to her.
"I didn't even know you were home" she remarks, closing her magazine she gives me her full attention.
"I've been home since 3. I even did laundry and a full load of dishes" I have no idea how she didn't hear me drop my laundry basket down the stairs.. twice.
"How are you and the boyfriend?" She says changing the subject and laying back on her pillow like a teen ready to tell gossip.
"Good, I'm meeting his mom on Monday for dinner" I answer. I know I don't seem nervous in the slightest, but god am I nervous.
"What's the dress code?" She asks. Her expression is almost suspicious. Like she's hiding something.
"I'm not sure there is one, I'll probably wear that red knitted sweater and jeans" I answer.
"Oh no, that just won't do" She quakes and jumps out of her bed in a hurry to her closet. She pulls out a grocery bag with a huge smile plastered on her face.
"Maybe this" she gestures to the bag, handing it to me. A light blue floral material fills the bag.
Just as I pull it out of the bag my aunt plops a shoe box down next to me. She knows my fashion taste that's for sure.
I sit at the edge of the bed letting the material flow down my legs as I inspect. It's a beautiful flowy sundress, it's short but not too short. Just how I like it.
I then opened the box. My aunt moves her hands at me to tell me I'm not opening it fast enough for her.
The box finally opens and the cutest pair of sandals sit inside. The straps are filled with blue gems that match the dress perfectly. She knows me too well.
I move to my feet and give her a huge hug. "Thank you so much" I say before removing my arms from hers.
"I couldn't leave the store without them" she responds. She has a shopping addiction... as do I.
"How long are you staying this time?" I ask. I wish she could move in and I wouldn't have to be in this huge house by myself.
"I leave next Wednesday" she replies and my heart shatters. I hate this. I hate that my parents leave me here and I hate that the rest of my family lives so far.
"So soon?" My face must be ridden with sorrow because her smile falls from her face as she searches mine.
"I can't leave Bob by himself now can I" She answers. Bob is her "boyfriend" he's a piece of shit but I digress.
"Well let's plan something before you leave then" I'm going to miss her.
"Of course you just let me know pumpkin" she says before disappearing into her bathroom.
I make some leftover lasagna in the microwave and head up to my room. I can't wait for tomorrow to be over already.
My phone buzzes beside me on the bed. "Last day of school bitches. Wear something cute" it reads with Mel obviously being the sender of it.
I already picked out a cute pair of shorts and a white sweater so I'm set. But I have a feeling Mel is going ALL out. Heels and all.
I watch some more of my crime show waiting for it to be a reasonable time for me to go to sleep. I wanted to sleep at 7 but it still seemed too early.
Scrolling on my phone I see a picture of me sleeping, my mouth is wide open. "So precious" the caption reads. The author is that of Corbin.
"I've got more than enough payback sitting in my camera roll. Delete it" I comment. And I'm not lying. I have pictures of him with French fires in his nose and so much more.
It's finally 9 pm I shut off the TV and get into my cozy pjs. I text Corbin to let him know I'm going to sleep and not dead when he tries to text me goodnight later and I don't respond.
"Goodnight, sweet dreams darling" he sends back. I love that name darling it just feels so fitting when he calls me it.
I turn over and cuddle the fluff next to me wishing it was Corbin and not just my pillow.
