Fourty five

My eyes open slowly. The sun pours through the sliding glass door. His arms are tightly wrapped around me, just as mine are on him.

My eyes meet his. He looks wide awake.

"Goodmornin' sleepy head" he smirks at me and gently kisses my forehead.

"Morning handsome" I chirp back with the same smile.

"What would you say if I asked you on a date" he hums against my cheek.

"Right now?" I whisper back

"Right now." He says pulling me to sit on top of him.

"Umm, I'd say yes probably" My face is likely the color of a fire truck right now.

He still makes me nervous. Even though I'm so comfortable around him.

"Only probably?" He frowns

"Just kidding, of course, I'd say yes you big doof" I giggle.

"Where are we going?" I question knowing he's not going to tell me.

"It's a surprise"

Just as I thought.

"I have no clothes"

"I have an idea for that actually" he says with a shit-eating grin.

I put on his t-shirt and my jeans from the night before as I waited for him to get out of the shower.

We finally pull into a large parking lot. A huge sign above an entrance gate reads "Silo Fairgrounds".

I look at him for a moment in amusement before jumping out of my seat at the sound of someone knocking on my window.

Outside my door stands, Vincent, Kiera, Draven, Mel, Raven, and Coffee Girl.

"What the hell Corbin" I say punching his arm.

"Surprise?" He chuckles unfazed by my punch.

He opens my door for me like the gentleman he is.

"Thank you" I chirp.

"Now what are you guys doing here?" I pry.

"Corbin invited us" Mel chirps as Draven wraps his arm around her.

What would this even be considered...

"I want cotton candy so If we're done with the theatrics I'd like to go find the maker" Vin says with a serious face.

We walk into the fairgrounds. All of us hand and hand with our partner.

"Thank you" I whisper in Corbin's ear.

"Anything for my beautiful Kathrine" he whispers back.

Cheesy but my legs are still melting.

We ride a few kitty rides as a group before heading to the horror house.

"Oh no, no, no. I am NOT doing this one" Vincent whines behind us.

I turn to reassure him but Kiera grabs his hand and drags him behind us.

We make it through first and wait a moment before we realize everyone else must be lost in the house.

"Ferris wheel?" Corbin says squeezing my hand and pointing to the bright blue and pink colored ride in front of us.

I nod.

I look out from the top of the ride.

"Everything looks tiny up here" I say more to myself.

"Now that we're trapped up here and no one can hear you scream" Corbin hums bringing me away from the view.

I stay quiet knowing there's a few things that could happen.

1 he kills me.

2 he tells me he's married with 2 kids.

Or 3 he is an undercover agent working for the government.

"I know this is a huge step and we're only teenagers-" He starts, grabbing my hand in his.

He looks away to try and gather his words for a moment before looking back at me.

"Um, would you maybe want to stay with me? I mean at my house, you could even stay in the guest room if you want. You don't have to stay at all I just know you don't like being in that house by yourself and my mom and I talked if you want to we-"

I cut off his rambling with a small kiss before answering.

"I'd like that"

"Fuck yes! Uh, I mean great, awesome.. yeah" he chirps back.

He's so cute when he's nervous.

"Now about that cotton candy..." he smiles changing the subject as the Ferris wheel starts again bringing us to the bottom.

"Looks like they beat us to it" I point down at our friends who are all standing in line at the concession stand.
