It's been a week since I last saw or spoke to Corbin. I feel like he's been avoiding me.
I can't help but overthink that night.
Him turning off his phone could've just been his way of saying I had his attention.
At least that's what I've told myself every day since.
"Would you like your receipt?" The young man behind the coffee counter politely asks.
"No thank you" I give him my best smile and head towards Raven and Mel.
"Girl you look like shit" Mel says with a smile. Like the smile is supposed to help my shittiness or something.
"Still no text?" Raven hums beside me.
I simply shake my head not wanting to continue the conversation.
"Asshole" Raven says under her cough with a laugh.
I have no reason to not trust him but I'm an overthinker and I honestly don't know what else to think.
Did he die?
Is he secretly apart of the FBI?
Did he ever love me?
"Snap out of it Kat, he's not worth your time" Raven says before scooting me out of the booth and throwing away my coffee.
"I know just the thing" Mel chimes in.
"I was drinking that" I groan.
Finally arriving at our destination, I look up to see a strip mall.
Of course shopping therapy... Yay me.
I like shopping don't get me wrong but right now I just want to lay in my bed cuddling my sheets with my favorite cartoon.
"Perfect" Mel screams behind me grabbing the dress I have in my hand.
"Go on try it on, I'll bring more" she says scooting me towards the dressing room and disappearing behind the racks of clothes.
I mean it doesn't look bad. Red always looks great on me.
Corbin loves red on me.
Corbin.
Everything I do reminds me of him. I can't even shower without thinking of his stupidly cute face.
"Are you nakey?" Mel whispers behind the curtain.
I yank her in instead of responding.
"I knew this would work, smiling again already." She hums throwing four more at me to try on.
"Are you done yet?" Raven squeaks.
"All done" I say with all 5 dresses in hand.
They're cute and being sad always makes me feel rich.
We end up shopping for 3 hours. My credit card is practically on life support at this point.
"You know he could just be busy" Mel says softly from the front seat.
"For a week?" I quietly question.
"You're right but anyone can see that he is madly in love with you I'm sure he has a good reason" Raven chimes in.
"Right" I sarcastically agree.
I've sent him about twelve texts with no response. He hasn't even read them.
It's like he just fell off the face of the earth.
I push open Raven's front door and lo and behold Draven and Vin are sitting on the couch facing me.
"Holy shit Kat, you look like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning" Draven pokes with a stifled smile.
"Fuck you Drav" I respond ignoring his confused glare I head up the stairs to Raven's room.
"That was fucking hilarious" Raven says with teary eyes from laughing.
"I don't know what else to do, I drove by his house the other day and his car wasn't even there" I ramble.
"Everybody watch out stalker Kat on the loose, hide your kids hide your wife" Mel says with a guttural laugh.
"Shut up I was in the neighborhood, but I honestly don't know what he expects me to think of all this" I continue.
"Maybe he's somewhere where there isn't service" Mel tries to reason.
I throw myself on the bed with a huff before I tell them what happened that night.
"There was a girl blowing up his phone" I let out with a sigh of disgust.
"Are you su-" Raven tries to speak but I cut her off.
"I'm positive and that's not even all"
"When he noticed I saw he turned his phone off and acted like nothing happened" I finish throwing my hands over my head.
"That sneaky little bitch" Mel yells loud enough I know the boys heard.
"I should've known better, god why am I so stupid" I say under my breath.
The bedroom door creeks and we all know the culprits. Raven pushes her finger to her lip before pulling the door open.
Revealing Draven and Vincent.
"Nosey bitches" I huff bringing myself to the edge of the bed.
"If it makes you feel better he hasn't answered any of our texts either" Vincent says sitting down next to me.
He lightly places his hand on my back for comfort.
I break, throwing my arms around him. Sobbing into his arms.
"It doesn't but thank you" I say with tears flowing down my face.
"It's okay Kat, I'm sure he's just busy. He does this sometimes" he hums in my ear.
Backing away before it got too awkward I notice everyone's eyes searing into mine.
"I don't know what just happened but no one is to speak anything of this to my girlfriend" Vincent jokes patting me on the head.
"Thank you, guys, even though I feel the same as I did this morning" I say before wiping my eyes.
"Let's get you home, yeah?" Raven breaks the silence.
"Yes please" I joke giving Vincent a disgusted look with a laugh.
After getting dropped off back home, I get back into my Carebear pjs and finally lay down.
But of course just as I'm about to reach max comfiness, my phone rings.
Scrambling to my feet in search of the obnoxious ringer. It sits at the end of my bed.
